MTG Nightmare Custom

Hey everyone,

It's been forever since I've been on the forums (life crash), but it's so great to be back on and see everyone's customs. I jumped back in recently now that my life is more stable and I decided to create a Magic the Gathering Nightmare Custom pony. I really hope you guys like her, I am slightly obsessed with her.

Wow I had to look up the older art of night mare because the new one I had seen is no where near as gorgeous as this!

Yes! LoL! Thank you so much for clarifying! I had forgotten they made newer versions. I based her off of the original card that I had :) I don't like the newer Nightmare either.

I tend to just collect here and there of various things and I got some MTG cards when I was in high school. I absolutely loved the 1995 Nightmare, but I lost my cards in a move and was pretty sad to realize I'd lost it. I bought the card on ebay not too long ago and HAD to make a custom MLP to go along with it.

I didn't realize it was a female artist. That makes me love the card even more.

She looks great! I imagine flames are hard to paint/sculpt, you've done an amazing job capturing the original card design. ^.^

The new card art is rather subdued isn't it? Hardly any fire! lol :P

Thank you so much! I wanted her to look as close to the original card as possible. I only changed her tail because I wanted it to look like the flames were blowing in the same direction and she needed a little support with that heavy mane, lol.

I completely agree, the newer card hardly does the power and grace of the Nightmare justice. Based on the info from the comic she is very powerful and strong headed. She actually has human slaves care for her! LoL in the MTG game she is as strong as the number of swamps you have in your deck which is pretty cool.
