How about leave in conditioner spray? I would like to avoid getting them wet since they are snowglobe ponies but the box hair could use some work.

That is a good point about using white conditioner.  I never thought of that!

It's not real hair so you can use whatever on it, but I usually just use whatever disinfecting hand soap I have at the sink and thick conditioner as needed.

I use whatever uncolored dish-soap I have on hand (usually the Kirkland generic) for general dirt/grugyness/disinfecting and whatever uncolored conditioner (usually Aussie) for the hair.  Happy with the results so far, I've been using this for years and I've seen no ill effects, smells nice too!

Brush 'n Grow Bouquet before and after these brands (plus a bit of touchup with magic eraser and acetone):

Featherwurm, did you comb her hair out prior to getting it wet?  She looks amazing!!  There may be hope for a nasty brush and grow I have after all :)

I use whatever's on hand - currently suave.  But I have had great results with Panteen as well.

My best tip...?  After washing the hair, comb the conditioner through the hair, then let it dry.   I let my ponies sit in their conditioner overnight until it's almost as hard as a helmet.  :P  Then I rinse it out - always super soft!  Style as desired, and set, and let it dry again.  ;)  Wonderful results!

Nope, I find working dry leads to more tangles than with things wet, I went straight to water and conditioner, working carefully from tip to root with a rat-tail comb (what I have on hand) and plenty of condtioner.  I was pretty careful with her as I wanted to be sure to avoid getting water inside of her (especially as her mechanism still works well).  I find working with hot water can also help soften the fibers a bit and make them a little more manageable and make the end result smoother.

I use a dollar shop blue/purple/white conditioner, so that when it drys on ponies it doesn't stain - blue products can make whites whiter in my experience so far, although watch out for blue painter's tape, that'll stain if your sunfading pony for instance is knocked off the verandah railing by say, the cat and lands in say, a pond... and you couldn't find her for a few hours!

I think like many here I use whatever is on hand. Dish soap for the body (Palmolive is what's here, does the brand make much of a difference?), Herbal Essence shampoo and Suave conditioner. I was originally using watered down Aussie conditioner (not enough left to use for myself but it got me through several ponies)- but when it ran out the ponies got the cheap stuff, lol. They don't seem to mind.

I used to go through the effort of combing dry before a wash but I haven't bothered with the last few ponies I did... Combing wet with thr conditioner on seems to be easier.  :satisfied:

I always use the cheap Suave conditioner. Right now I am using the purple lavender scent and it seems to work well. I love the scent too. Smells so good.

I have used different brands of shampoo  and conditioner, so all works, mostly with scents
Coconut and White Lilly are awesome  and they are white :)
they leave an awesome smell on the ponies, I had a big bottle of conditioner with Argan oil and it was awesome ,
I got  it at Ross Store ,discount  store,I went back to get me another one and did not find it again, but I found this one and it is even better

COLOREVOLUTION
intensive care systems formula
SOOTHE  delasser
Oat and Honey
with Argan oil,Andiroba oil,Oat oil and Almond milk
sulfate free.

I bought it because I wanted to do hair donation but after 6 months ,the long hair was very annoying and I have never let my hair grow that long and It needed to get longer than 8 " LOL ,so I got a haircut recently ,so the conditioner is super ,the ponies smell awesome after their spa:)

May or may not have happened to Bouquet... her symbol bled a little, and she has a blue tinge along the underside of her mane... but her leg stain is gone, and she's really white otherwise, just like the photoshopped photos I bought her from!
