« on: May 27, 2015, 01:29:45 PM »
not too long ago I found a amazing deal here on the arena for one of my grail ponies, Gusty!
apart from one glitter cutie mark being sliiiightly rubbed off one tip of the leaf she's perfect! except for this black mark on her

I popped her head off to see if it was inside the body too, but it seems only to be on the surface of her.

Looks like just a pen mark; something that hopefully can be sunfaded. Be sure to cover the rest of her up nicely, though, so nothing else fades! I'm pretty sure there are several posts on sunfading you could take a look at. :)

Try this. I used it it seems to lighten spots.

Sun fading would work well for that spot, you can try to lighten it with a mr. clean magic eraser before putting her in a sunny window.  Be sure to wrap all the rest of her really well in tin foil to keep her symbols and hair in the great shape they are in already.

You can try the Mr. Clean  Magic Eraser, or a bit of acetone on the matk. If those don't work you can absolutely sunfade that mark right out. I had a gusty with a pretty bad line of Sharpie on it. You would never know. I've shared pictures before let me know if you'd like to see. You definitely need to cover up her painted areas and mane and tail.

I agree with the replies so far. I would try a little acetone, then a magic eraser and if still an issue sun fade the last part :)

Yep, I agree as well! The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser has worked wonders! It takes up permanent marker well, just takes patience and some light force. Old crayon marks don't come up as easy..but it does fade them significantly. I haven't tried the sunning thing on any of my ponies just yet, but I've read it's great to lighten up the marks further. :)

Yes, the Magic Eraser is actual magic. It'll fade that mark down so you can barely see it, then if you want to make it go away totally sunfading is your best bet. Just make sure you read some instructions on how to sunfade so you don't accidentally fade any other parts of the pony!

Let us know how it turns out! :frolic: After all this "grail gushing" I've read/learned about Gusty, it seems as though I'm really fortunate to have mine in such great shape after all these years.. :D :inlove:
