Are there two versions of Star Glow?
« on: May 24, 2015, 02:43:46 PM »
So I apologize up front that I cannot post pictures.  I upgraded my Mac which was a huge mistake because the new upgrade doesn't support Iphoto.  So until I figure that out no pictures for me.

I recently received a lot of ponies from Ebay which included a beautiful Star Glow.  My plan was to resell her however I always compare extras to my collection to make sure I am keeping the best condition pony (it's the picky collector in me).  While comparing the two ponies I realized the one I received in the lot is a very pretty blue and the one in the my collection is more of a dull green color.  I think the one in my collection might just be faded but before she gets selected for re sale I wanted to check and make sure there is not a second version of this pony?  Any help is appreciated.  :)

There are several variants in this set but the colour tends to be just a normal factory happenstance!  :)

At least two, maybe more. This set are super prone to variations! It is hard to know with Starglow whether it is discolour but if the colour is even it's likely to be a batch related variation.

Did you compare the hair colours too ? There is also a coral vs pink variation on the mane and tail which is quite common to see...plus a much rarer white and yellow hair version about which not much is known...

There is also a yellow and white hair version! I've only seen two of them! I think tuney? Has one?

Thus set is always full of mysteries! I love it!
Thanks to calico star for my avatar!

Both of mine have the same shade of hair, yellow and pink although the white and yellow version sounds lovely.  I am going to call her a color variation or even a faded version as her hearts are white where the blue one has hearts that are slightly pink.  My collection is so large that I have no room for doubles.  So my "green" Star Glow will be looking for a new home at the pony fair as I prefer the blue one.

Thank you everyone for your help.  :)

I think I would be prone to say a combination of aging and batch differences rather than anything specifically released differently. This type of transparent plastic is very bad for breaking down and aging unfortunately. However it really does add to the variety to find them in so many minor shade differences. :)
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi
