Hello all!

Today I got the most baity piggy I've ever seem. No mane, no tail, white thick paint on the hoofs... tons of dirt.. Tips of the ears missing. A catastrophe. But I have faith that she will turn out lovely.

The thing is that I thought it was a normal white hair minty, but after opening her and cleaning the inside, I found a tiny ball of hair inside and it's light brown!! This really made me happy! Of course I want to give her a rehair, but I'd like the hair to be as close to the original as possible. Do any of you own this piggy with original hair? Can you compare it to some other pony?

Thank you all for your help. I'll post some pics later so you can see my frankenpony ^^

Poor minty! So good that you're giving her some much needed TLC!
According to an earlier post about a piggy butterscotch, who has similar brown hair colour (the darker haired version of butterscotch), possible matches could be Amaretto, English Toffee, Gingerbread and Carrot Cake from dollyhair.com, it's pretty hard to match exactly but I hope someone out there can help out with their piggy! :)

I agree with the colours you've suggested Truly :) it is difficult as the colours and textures are sometimes unique.

I'd love to see pictures of minty when she's been restored ^.^

As promised! Some pics.

Here is the pony when I got it:

Here is the remains of hair I found inside the pony:

I guess it looks more honey like because it's a small amount. I have checked the post you mention, but after seeing this little bit of hair I don't know which shade to pick.

And here are some pics after the first bath and removing the white paint. Tomorrow I'll give it another bath. Also a close up of the symbols.

Also, do you know where can I buy eye lashes? The ones I've found are very black, and all my piggies have light lashes

Wow! Great work cleaning her up.

I do think she ia gold hair Minty from looking at the bit of hair you found inside her. Gold hair Minty seems to have a brighter green body to me or am I wrong?

Yes, her body is of a deeper and brighter green. White hair minty (Menta) has a paler body. Tomorrow with daylight I'll take some comparison pictures.

I've been checking some pics I have of MOC piggies.

I think Manzanita and Butterscotch (blue symbols) have the same hair color, what would be logical as they are from the same manufacturer. While Melocotón is way darker.

What I have no clue is what color from dollyhair would be a good match. With the few hairs I have here, I see a dark honey color. But again, it's too little hair to tell.

Oh she looks soooo much better! :) perhaps better colours from dollyhair may be Butterscotch or Caramel Cream?

Oh my! If it could talk, I bet it would have the most adventurous story to tell!!

Good job on cleaning her up! I'm sure she will look great after her makeover.

You could always send the hair to a customizer that dyes hair. Do u do this pkw? Gotbunny has dyed hair for me in the past to match hair from a nirvana that didnt have a good match with dolly hair :) colourscapeart as also dyed hair for me but many years ago

I have been told by some dolls customizers and reborn artist to visit a store here in my city that sells hair for wigs and such. I'll try that, but if I don't find what I want or it's too expensive, I will certainly consider getting dyed hair for this piggy.

I know it's beause of the angle, but I love how it seems she is happier after the cleaning session.

I'm sure this poor girl story must be at least, curious. She came with two other ponies: NC Trickles  and Spain Sweetstuff... and both came with pins stuck in their bodies!! PINS!! But not one or two.. Sweetstuff had at least 6 pins. I freaked so much when I found headless pins stuck in the legs and neck... So disturbing. And dangerous. I was so concerned about not pricking my fingers I completely forgot to take pics. It's something I had never seen in ponies before. But after some deep cleaning and hair styling they look very well. ^^ Trickles has more issues, but is a lovely girl.

Lady Pinwheel thank you for confirming the body colour difference. I thought Menta was a paler green, but  can be hard to tell just from looking at pictures.

I agree that Manzanita and Butterscotch have a similar hair colour. Melocoton's hair is so much darker! I rehaired a Melocoton a few years ago and Butterscotch hair was too pale, I wasn't sure at the time if it was true variation or due to being in such poor condition.

I hope you find a good match in the wig shop :)

I have custom dyed hair before, but never yo match a pony. I'm sure it can easily be done though :)

Thank you so much for those pictures! You can really see the colour difference.

I'm learning so much about these different piggy variations :bigups:
