I've had a minifee before but sold her. I'm interested in a model for sewing. Any recommendations?  I'm okay with a Bobobie or Resin soul too

I recommend that you just keep your eye out (on DOA marketplace) for one that has issues- like someone painted a horrible face-up on her, or she has a broken joint or something that can be easily fixed.  Mine had a crack in the foot and is very yellowed (she is quite old) - so I was able to get a bargain for her.  (Actually she was more yellowed than I had anticipated but I have gotten used to it, and it doesn't show up in photos very well)

I know Hannaliten gets deals on dolls that have been horribly defaced by would-be face-up artists...

All of the faces are so cute- I like the cutie bust the best I think because it seems odd to me personally to have a doll that is very thin, but with a big bust.  But it's just personal preference :D

Personally I have way more trouble finding clothes for my chunkier MSD girls than I do for my slim mini Unoa sized girls. So I vote you get a chunky one :) But all that aside, look on DoA for damaged MSD bodies, or search on Mandarake for "Junk super dollfie" and you'll get a list of cheap BJDs that have issues. I've bought from Mandarake many times- they're really easy to buy from. Resinsoul & Bobobie bodies are even slimmer than a Minifee or Unoa I think, but they are really popular so if you sewed for them I'm sure you'd have a big customer base. Kid Dollmore are a good size, not a chunky as a Volks, bit bigger than a Unoa, and they are usually pretty inexpensive on the second hand market. Clothes that fit them will usually fit a wide range of bodies, especially if the fabric has a little stretch. Lots of cute sculpts too.

Who's considered a chunky girl? I'd much prefer some curves than a stick

ETA: I'm in love with shiloh dollpire. I so wish she was still in stock. I've had an wanted ad on DOA for her for ages!

RS MSDs are definitely even thinner than minifees...My RS girl is a pain to find clothes for...she just wears dresses, or custom clothes because anything I buy is WAY to big in the hips/butt.

I agree with looking for someone with a damaged faceup - I've seen lots of perfectly good dolls for sale CHEAP just because they have a hideous faceup, and maybe a chipped knee joint or something.  You can definitely find one if you poke around.

I'm thinking of a Volks MSD with the child like, thicker body as a chunky MSD. I have a Volks, Unoa, and Dollmore MSD girls and can get a nude comparison pic if you'd like.

Mei is a nice sculpt. She has such a gentle expression. I've always liked BBB/ RS faces, but something about the bodies puts me off. I'd love to have a BBB Sprite hybrid one day.

I have two MSD's; A Luts Yul Satyresse and a Doll Leaves Amara. My Yul is a centaur so I don't think she counts, but my Amara is my favourite doll out of my ten!

They're so pretty! I was just looking at a Luts Kid Delf Bory. She's quite stunning. There's so many choices out there once you actually start looking outside of the minifee core group. I'm going to have a very hard time deciding.

I have an RS Mei as well, actually I've had 3 of her. I've also had a few RS Ju, she's a really pretty sculpt. If you do go for an RS girl, I'd go with the Rong body instead of the super petite Mei default body.
