pullip questions
« on: May 04, 2015, 02:55:44 PM »
Hi
just a few questions that i have been wondering

Do monster high clothes fit pullips? Specifically a dress

Also this is a bit random but is it possible to dye a pullip? I am thinking no but there is one that i really like but want it to have tan skin, is there anyway to colour the plastic?

Thanks :)

MH clothes won't fit Pullips. Pullips are closer in size to Barbie.

I don't know about dyeing one though.

You might want to ask an expert about the dying. I know they can be painted (and then sanded silly) but dying is a different kettle of fish.

Pullips can't really effectively be dyed the same way that ponies can. Pullips are made of a couple of different materials and while it may sort of kind of take the dye in some places it really won't do much of anything in other places. Requiemart did a tutorial on how to full body repaint a Pullip but eventually it chips around the joints http://www.requiemart.com/pullip/painting.html

If you want a tan Pullip, Pullipstyle actually has the blank tan Pullip MIO kits in stock for once  (if you want one act fast, they always sell out within two weeks of restocking!)

thanks klein I thought that would be the case and I was thinking I would have to get a MIO kit. It was just being hopeful cause the doll I wanted had perfect make up for the character i wanted to make but is far to white.

Thanks again

A full body repaint or dye job would most likely obliterate the face up anyway, if you are looking for an easily found tan girl with a face up already SDCC Catwoman is really tan http://www.pullipstyle.com/pullipstyle/product_info.php?products_id=821

Her face up is really quite pretty though a bit dramatic. Groove unfortunately doesn't release tan girls too often anymore

You may be able to find a couple of older pullips which are tan too, whose names currently escape me.

WF Batgirl has tan skin, the SDCC has the like standard pale skin tone. Most Taeyangs are pretty well pale, I've heard that Raiki is a nice tan but he is one of the few that I haven't handled.

I would avoid Captain Hook, he looks tan from the front but there is some weirdness there.

Here's the strange part the face plate is painted, if you look closely at the picture you can see it looks a little uneven. The backplate is his true skin color. I have no idea why Jun Planning did it but apparently all Captain Hooks are like that.

Oh so weird!  I have Capt. Hook and I never noticed that at all! I guess his huge mane of black hair covers it up pretty well-

It is funny to me that their darkest tan skin- is still so pale, lol
