We're almost there!

A bit of adjustment possibly on the shoulders, and I think we can call the basic blouse final. This one has sew-in sleeves, which are difficult at this small a scale, so I'm going to make a no-sew sleeve pattern as well. I also will have a version that relies on fray-check/block to reduce hemming on the sleeve ends, and all versions rely on fray-check for the simple collar.

After all this fun with darts, I want to make a simpler shirt that relies on 2-way (or 4-way) stretch fabric and has no darts, before deciding on which results in a signature look for Rarity.

The penultimate pattern for Rarity's blouse and skirt has resulted in this:

I have an embroidery and sewing machine coming at some point this week, plus some digitizing software, to embroider Rarity's cutie mark against solid purple fabric, and create a solid light blue blouse, and Rarity will have her signature look.

I think it's an improvement on the purple tutu (it looks like a tutu to me, in some respects) dress and the slinky pink dress in deluxe 2013 Rarity's box.

Alright, here's the blouse and mini-skirt designed for 2013 Rarity on a 2014 Rainbow Rocks Twilight Sparkle:

It's actually loose! Although that's hard to tell from the pictures:

Basically with the new dolls they completely redesigned them. No bending arms or legs, and now full feet instead of pegs. But most importantly for the fashionista, the bust size is down by it looks like 1/8" at least, and they thinned the hips. I'll have to re-take measurements and alter the patterns again, then put out two versions of the patterns—for 2013 dolls, and for 2014+ dolls.

I do like the redesign better. 2013 Rarity was quiiiiite the busty one.

Thanks!

Just finished taking Twilight Sparkle's 40 measurements, this time in metric. No more fractions, argh. Still going to use a 1/8" seam allowance though, because sewing machines in the US are still on Imperial when they have seam guides.
