Pink Tex's hat?

Just been watching a lot on eBay and I was going to pop a bid on but chickened out at the last minute when it went over my budget.
The reason for my interest is this hat, anyone have any ideas on it?
It's definitely the same casting as Tex's hat but I've never seen or heard of it in pink before, any ideas ?

I checked the Spanish and they were yellow and white. It's not g4 applejacks, I checked that too.

There was a user on the MLTP that used to do custom Tex hats. She did them in a number of colors including that shade of pink. She was working out of Spain from what I remember. This could be one of hers. She made a mold of her Tex's hat and, from the pictures I've seen of them, there's nothing to distinguish them from originals other than color.

Yes I do remember that seller, although I kinda ruled it out as this seemed like a childhood collection. I did email the seller to see if they could give us anymore info.

You beat me to it! lol I was going to ask this question as the hat had me curious as well. My first thought was Spanish but as those are wrong colours perhaps there is another Nirvana Tex out there.....?

My guess is a custom hat?  I have a white tex hat and clear conductor hat made by someone on the arena- they look really good on my vintage brother ponies.  Honestly, my vintage collection "looks like" a childhood collection too...

The Best of the West hat isn't hard plastic like Tex's hat.

The seller has sent me a reply to say that they are his daughters old ponies he is selling and he will ask her if she knows where it came from

Its certainly not a variation I am aware of - regular or Nirvana. If its a childhood collection it also makes it unlikely to be a custom (although as has been mentioned there have been people in the past who made multi coloured versions of this hat).

The body of the hat does look a little taller than it should be for MLP but to be fair that is probably the angling of the photo as in every other way it looks like a pink version.

I would think it is probably from another line - I am just not sure which one unfortunately as its not ringing any bells. The lack of the sheriffs badge would suggest its not Tex's.

Hmm, I don't know. The mold looks the same to me- although the brim maybe folds more? Not sure though due to angle.

Is his daughter about 30-38? Maybe she collected these for a while or was even on the Arena? They could be her vintage ponies except maybe some new acquisitions thanks to ebay?

She (or he) will make them in any color for you- they look really good in person. I got some in fun colors so they wouldn't ever be mistaken for something other than repros made for play.
