Gauging Interest: Twisted Fairy Tale Swap

Last year we gauged interest in April, took sign ups in May, Partners by June 1 (was a little earlier, but that was the deadline for partners), and shipping on Aug 23. Since other swaps are wrapping up, I wanted to gauge interest now. This is a Sculpt/Sew Heavy swap, so it needs a good 3 months work time. It also helps to time it so that those of us prepping for the Fair can balance things, and so it wraps up before the Halloween swap.

Take your favorite fairy tales (or characters from them) and twist them into something darker or stranger (which can be a challenge itself).

This isn't meant to be a simple paint job. You have plenty of time to work on your ponies, so take your time and think outside the box. Don't feel limited by Disney interpretations of these characters. Try your hand at things you may not do- sculpting, sewing, etc. Be brave and have FUN with it.

Some ponies in this swap will also include gore and bloodiness, but it's not required.

I passed on this swap last year because I wasn't sure I had enough sculpting experience, but I think I might be ready for it this year.

you can pick anything really. last year I included a greek myth, and the year before a nursery rhyme in mine disney versions or old school. any country for origin.

as for the creation side, you can always bounce ideas off me (well, anyone except my partner lol). last year I helped a few people brainstorm and their ponies turned out amazing!

one great thing about this swap, is it encourages you to try something different and weird (since we are twisting stories that are already twisted lol)
