HK Tootsie was an alternate release and was sold in a very select few countries in Europe alongside "non so soft" Truly and Cupcake :)

She's generally around $10-12 :)

Hong Kong White Tootsie was sold in some parts of Europe. She seems to have had a couple of different releases - she didn't come with the NSS Truly/Cupcake set (that was Hopscotch, Shady, CJ and Posey) but generally as a straight replacement for her green version in some countries. There are at least two different designs of card with her on :)

LadyG is the Tootsie Queen so her information is spot on :)

Thank you for clarifying the set Tootsie came with too ^.^ i find it easy to get mixed up with those sets.

Heck, even I had to think about it ;) Not helped by the fact that Cupcake looks very much like white Tootsie in the backcard pic!

This! In my minds eye I was sure it was white Tootsie, but when I double checked in the gallery I saw it was indeed Cupcake.

I believe this is the set she belonged to. The image scan isnt' perfect but it's her in the top right corner, "Sucre D'Orge." I think she was there in place of Gypsy or Honeycomb. This is the equivalent image/set from the UK release that same year, which makes it look like she replaced Honeycomb and Lickety replaced Gypsy:

So that is my general assumption. I'm pretty sure from the MOC image Rosse lent me that she was on the year before card in Scandinavia, too, so probably she existed in 85 and 86?

Very true Taff, although that could show the Italian version too (since Snowflake and Hopscotch had Italian versions, but Gypsy and Honeycomb did not)

I wondered that, but I also have a separate Italian insert with different art so I dunno. Unfortunately it is hard to tell from drawings alone :/. The french scan is one TTT sent me so I don't have the paper copy to examine for clues XD. I think it possible, though, since I hace CP BowTie on a German version of that set card and she is HK, that they might have used one drawing for several releases and not everything was covered.

Having BowTie on that card suggests the German set was different again from the French and Rosse's pic is on UK card but from Scandinavia so...

Rosse's carded one is UK card and says Hasbro UK on it (I have that one too), but I know she wasn't sold here. Italy's cards were different from everyone else's, even when the pony was the same, so could go either way!

Pretty sure it was from that card that the story about her being sold in the UK was born. I remember Rosse (pretty sure it was Rosse) had Powder as well on a UK style card we never actually had - do you know whether those images are still lurking around the net somewhere?

Always confused as to why something would be done on a UK card and then not sold in the UK.

My HK White Tootsie came from Holland. It would be interesting to know which countries she was definitely sold in - LadyG, do you know??

No doubt both sets will have been made with the intention of UK releases but its going to have taken UK retailers willing to carry them. If they didnt they will have ended up sold into markets that would take them. Same reason we have seen some G4 releases with GB on them...but they never actually made it here. Packaged to cover all bases but then something just doesnt sell. Or, in my personal opinion, its 80s Hasbro determined to confuse the sauce out of us all these years down the line :P

I think that's where the rumour came from too. Pretty sure I still have the images - will have a look when I get back home. Not sure exactly where she was sold, but appears to b  mostly northern Europe and Aus. Do have her on another card as wellz but forget where from. Could well be Benelux.

I'm going with to confuse us!
