I took my bestie to the animal shelter yesterday for support and a level head in adopting another kitty. My two oldies are getting on in age, and thought it was time to take on a new fur baby. I had 2 x 18 year olds (Jack the tabby and Darla Boo the torti) as well as a 7 year old Sir Winston a Chinchilla (persian x tabby).

We had picked out two cats, a little white girl or a champagne with ginger points boy, when I went in to visit the champagne boy in the cage a little tabby came out of hiding and was all over me like a rash, 11 year old "Chicko". I hadn't even seen him in there and immediately fell in love with his smoochy personality so took him home.

My parents weren't too fond of his original name so have renamed him Pat (pat the cat) lol.

And just because, heres the rest of them. Jack (and yes he does have two different colored eyes for those of you that haven't seen him before) I didn't even realize until I got Pat home these two look so much alike.

I don't have a photo, and technically the pet isn't mine-- but my sis and her husband rent out the top of their house to a girl with the most beautiful dog, George.  She rescued him from an animal shelter and he's the sweetest, sookiest, most loveable thing ever.  We think he's maybe half greyhound, and not sure on the other half-- he's the size of a labrador, never barks, and he just loves everyone.  Once he gets to know them, that is.  He looks a bit scary if you don't know what a big sook he is!

(Total opposite to my childhood dog who we nicknamed Houdini for his amazing ability to escape.  He ended up at the Red Dog Petrol Station every time he took off.  He was a weird, crazy pup!)

Thanks everyone for sharing your pics and stories! All your animals are adorable petey boy is just gorgeous! Love the last photo of him scoffing down his ice cream treat lol, made me smile.

Little Pat is really doing well settling in here, hes come to me when I called for him and coming out of hiding for food / water without us taking him to it. The other delinquents don't seem bothered by him. I think he is definitely a good match for our house. His personality is starting to emerge too, such a smoochy boy!

Aww, I love pet threads! And kudos to you for adopting an older cat! They tend to get passed over in shelters. Pat is adorable and looks very happy to be with you!

I forgot I had pictures of my boys as bussiness cats, they are both from the shelter and Dante is around 6 or 7, Sid is 7 or 8. I adopted Dante first and then a year later my boyfriend got me Sid.

Here is my Vincey! I've had her ever since she was a kitten; she's nearly 12 years old now but she's still full of beans. She insists on following me all around the house, although the bedroom is off limits because she keeps knocking the plants off the windowsill.

Don't have any recent pictures, but my brothers dog has invaded.  Coco is a black pug

Still wish I had mine but he had to be put down due to a disease he had inherited.  Comet was an amazing dog!
