Like the thread states, I finally am the proud owner of this lovely gal!  I purchased her from a wonderful arena member and she just came in the mail today.   :inlove: Prepared to be pic spammed...

And after her spa appointment:

What a beauty! Just needed a good scrub down...

Now, for those who have seen it, yes, she does have pink marks down each of her legs.  Here's a better look:

Seems as though some little girl or boy gave her beautiful pink highlighter marks or something else bled the colour onto her at some point in her life.   Now, here is where the advice comes in.  For those of you who are really good at restoring ponies to their former glory, what's going to be the best way to get these marks faded? Is she sunfade-able?

Thank you to all who read this far and if you have any advice for me that would be great! Now excuse me while I go fawn for a while, lol.  :lovey:

When I got Nightglider, I stared at her for a good 15 minutes in awe.  She's truly gorgeous even when she isn't in the best condition!  I say you cleaned her up very nicely, and hopefully you can figure out what to do about those pink spots.

Congrats on this beauty!  :frolic:

Ooooh, I used to have Nightglider as a kid (gosh dang it what's with me seeing pics of G1 Ponies and going "Hey I used to have that one as a kid" when I see one that's familiar to me just about every time I browse the Brag section?)! Congrats!

Ooooh.  I would very carefully cover all the rest of her and sunfade one leg at a time.  Check on her daily - even the low intensity sun in Canada is enough to sunfade but I have had some challenges with that blue color, so I advise caution.

I'm glad she arrived safely :). She looks so much better than when she left my house. I probably could have gotten the grime off with a magic eraser, but didn't want to risk messing up her beautiful symbols since I wasn't planning on keeping her. You did an awesome job spiffing her up! I'm glad to make another pony person happy and help obtain rare ponies! I'm just guessing the pink may have bled on from another pony since she came in a lot of others and may have been packed away for years.

Which I totally understand!!! I'm grateful (as I'm sure other collectors are) to be able to have the chance to make the decision myself whether I want to risk the symbol rubs.  :)

And thank you everybody, I will try the sunfading ... Later... Very carefully like lovesbabysquirmy suggested.

I'd try bleach first - either neat and dipped on a sponge and scrub the legs, or hold her in a deep dish of bleach so her legs are covered.  IMO this is more likely to attack the highlighter pigment than the plastic pigment.

Ooh! Huge congrats!  I would start with a baby wipe to get the surface dirt off, and wash her carefully without getting any water inside.  I would cover the rest up (I just use tissues and rubber bands) and sunfade one bit at a time.  If the pink doesn't go within a few days I'd leave as is because I am not a fan of harsh interventions, I think it causes plastic breakdown and brown spots further down the line.  Best if luck!

I adore this pony! Congrats on her - she is stunning!

As for the marks, as others have said your best bet is sun fading - good luck!
