300!!!

I got my THREE HUNDRETH G1 today!!!!   

Well.. technically the count is now 301... but the important thing is WHO number 300 is.... Does anyone else keep silly milestone tabs like that?

...so I'm on my own... ok   

So, my silly thing was, that I knew a had a lovely parcel of ponies coming (thanks, Cassstorm!) and I knew someone in there was going to be number 300...
When it arrived I reached into the box blindly and keeping a count in my head, pulled out one pony at the time (which were all bagged so I didn't cheat, lol) until number 300 came out. The pony concerned could not have been more appropriate for me

Here she is - in all her (in some people's opinions!) ugliness - yet she's thoroughly perfect: So Soft Shady.

Why is she so appropriate for me? (cookies for those still reading!) SS Shady was my second ever childhood G1. She was so well loved that after twenty something years, she had come to look quite well-loved looking (aka moth-eaten!) Her flocking was all rubbed, her hair a dire, dry, frizzy mess. When I started collecting some years ago I thought I'd give her a newbie makeover - even de-flock her.... I ballsed it up completely... and traded her away as bait... not thinking I would miss her.

What a terrible thing I did to my loyal childhood friend     And as time's gone by, I've completely regretted doing it and it's haunted me.

So, over the last year, I've kept an eye out for her, wanting to add her to my collection again but this time with a special 'forever' spot. My new girl has almost immaculate flocking and bonus original curls (honey to the bee for me!). She's a little poofed up in the photo as I've just brushed and untangled them and she'll get a little extra special spa treatment along with my other new girls soon   LOVES HER!!

And... just as a wee homage to my original girl (though goodness knows where she is now....) here she is back in her glory days

Congratulations on your milestone and what an awesome pony to have be your 300th! I love the picture that you posted and you can see how much you loved Shady back then because she's a cheerleading princess of awesome! I wish I had pictures of me with my ponies. I am sorry you no longer have your childhood Shady, the part about her being your loyal friend almost made me tear up
