Poor Cinnamon Breeze... :(

So for some reason, completely out of the blue, my cat decides to start chewing on one of the pony toys I had on my computer desk display.  And Cinnamon Breeze happened to be that pony.     The weird thing is, my cat keeps going back to chew on her.   Just her!  Here are some quick pics of the carnage I took with my phone - her left side hooves are a wreck!

So I've just decided to "martyr" CB for the sake of the herd.    As long as the cat chews on CB alone, I won't use any sort of deterrent on the other ponies (e.g. bitter apple spray, etc.)

Have any of you guys suffered pony losses to pet (or baby) attacks?  What did you do about the problem?

My dog would chew wingers wings. I just started putting everyone back in the cabinet. Lol

If your cat is going to chew on the hoof with the plastic cap, then you might want to remove both the cap and the magnet. I don't know about your kitty, but my boy likes chewing on my pendants, and I worry about him swallowing something. Then again, he also likes to eat the buttons off our shirts. Maybe he's part ?

Oh no!! That is my worst nightmare... So sorry about your pony! Weird how kitty keeps going back to the one! I had a gerbil get out and chew on Baby Moondream's wings. Lucky it wasn't worse!

Over thanksgiving break, I brought my sale ponies with me because I had some interested buyers. I had them all in a paper bag, and my sister's kitten decided to devour part of the bag and Rainbow Flash. And luckily only RF. When ever I'm back home, I keep my ponies and dolls on the shelves now so they aren't so tempting to the kitty.

One of our cats used to do that to Barbie feet when I was a kid. I didn't really care about Barbie much, but I would have been devastated if he'd chomped on any ponies!

Honestly, I'd keep an eye on her and would have started redirection of the behavior immediately - who's to say she won't eventually decide to move on to a different pony or even just a different item in your house? It may just be the texture or type of material she enjoys, so I would probably have picked up a plastic chew toy for cats. Good luck, whatever you decide!

I had a cat that used to do that to my ponies feet and noses.  I had to bait several of my favorite ponies because she'd chew the offending pieces to bits.

Thankfully Harry pup and I have an agreement that everything in the pony room is mine and any other toy living outside it is his. Now Maggie pup...her I am not so confident about; I sense if left alone ponies would be carelessly nommed.

OMG! D: I'm so glad that the pets that I have loose are dogs that don't even have the ability to jump as high as the dresser I have my ponies displayed on.

(Gosh, that sure seemed like quite the convoluted sentence.)

when I was a kid my uncle's dog chewed the legs off my Sweet Pop and destroyed several other toys over the years. She had to go in the trash and I was upset. Get kitty a chew toy or catnip or something maybe. sorry to hear about your pony

You totally have my sympathy! We have two dogs: Coco (bichon frise x shih tzu mix) who chews nothing, and Maggie (mini schnauzer x pug x shih tzu) who chews everything and can somehow jump twice her height. She hasn't chewed any dolls or ponies (I don't trust her near them) but she's gotten four pairs of shoes, a calendar, two books, the charging cable for a Wii U gamepad and four tablet / cell phone chargers. So I do know what it's like to have a chewer in my home.
