Question About G1 Princess Pony Tails

Strange question, but were they rooted differently than the other ponies? I was prepping a newly acquired Princess Sparkle for cleaning when a section of her tail popped out. Turns out it was a 'mini' tail, and it had all the tinsel anchored in it. I think it's a factory error, but I thought I'd ask here first! The other princesses I have seem to have a single tail, but their heads are firmly attached and I can't bring myself to crack the seal and check it out.

My childhood friend had Princess Sparkle but I don't recall her tail situation.  But it's good to see Princess Sparkle again! I got hit by a huge wave a nostalgia when I saw your pics.

I've noticed that too.. but if it's normal I guess the pony miss the mini tail. Hmm..

yeah i had the same surprise rehairing a princess Serena and she had 2 small tails inside one washer, one with tinsel, the other didn't

Thanks for the info! I was just so surprised to suddenly be holding a tail in my hand, I thought at first I had ripped a massive chunk out of her tail when I was brushing it!

At least it should be easy enough to poke back inside without beheading her

Odd but normal Best description. Some of them dont have this but a lot of them do. No doubt it was a manufacturing decision and because the set had so many releases there is a bit of variety in how they were completed.

Oh wow I never knew this.  It's interesting because I can't tell on any of mine.  It looks like the tinsel is all over in the tail.  That's really cool.

This is interesting because I have a Princess Tiffany with a thin white tail with no tinsel, and I always wondered how that happened.  So this may mean that she did have another "mini tail" with tinsel that she somehow lost!
