she is really nice and I am not a CP specialist but it seems to me she could be one prototype (how the tail is and her colors make me think that)

I also second the prototype after seeing pics and after SeashellnBubbles comments about rootings of the tail.

I think perhaps prototype. The rooting of the tail may have proven too expensive to do that way and they went with the bent washer instead. using less glue would make sense as well, since it really hadn't been meant for play. But those are just my thoughts and reasoning!!
Oh, and as a Macau collector, all Macaus have the country scratched into the bottom of one hind foot, so she's definitely a normie otherwise

Then again first ponies were flat feets... and is this girl was prototype I would assume she would be FF but she isn't...so interesting

I'm still not sure she is a prototype. The first ponies were flat feet, and by the time the concave feet ones came around, they would already know the colours/have the plastics/general setup. I have seen other Cotton Candys fade in rather odd ways.

The tail washer is interesting though.

The seller said they were her granddaughters and have been stored for years. I really do not know what to think

Unfortunately I am sticking to a "very creative solution to damage to a well loved toy" - I have seen tails reattached all manner of different ways over the years. But as others have said, either way she is more than a little cool!

Sadly I too think she is well loved and worn rather than a prototype. If her hair wasnt so damaged I might be swaded but instead I think she has been dipped in some sort of chemical and faded. Also her color is a bit to off for the hasbro line, I realize a prototype could have an out there colour and some nirvana have a similar colouring I just dont see hasbro using this colour. in saying that she is really neat

I heard back from the seller tonight, she said she believes she was purchased at a garage sale or thrift store close to ten years ago. Well...regardless she looks even better displayed with Cotton Candy and the others lol!
