Hold On...There Are Only EIGHT G3 Unicorns?

I've never been that into G3's, but they've been growing on me 

I was just looking at Strawberry Reef and...there are only eight unicorns!?

Brights Brightly
Cheerilee (Styling Size)
Garden Wishes
Lily Lightly
Rarity (okay, so there are six versions of her...)
Sunrise Song
Sweetie Belle
Whistle Wishes

That's...that seems a bit unfair...

Unicorns were introduced fairly late into the G3 toyline, and Hasbro was already getting lazy with their releases - less variety and less unique characters, etc.  As a result (in my opinion), not many G3 unicorns were produced overall.

I'm surprised there's that many. They definitely needed more unicorns and pegasi. It's a shame because g3 has so many pretty color combinations/themes.

I need to put a limit on my G3 collection (not the "I don't have THIS one yet, I'm going to KEEP IT! " method).

Of course, I keep expanding...
1) Any pony with a jewel in the symbol
2) Any pony with a 3D symbol
3) Any unicorn
4) Holiday ponies

...and there are, of course, a couple that I just couldn't part with...like Desert Blossom in Scootaloo's cowboy hat

So, yeah!  I'll have every G3 unicorn in no time, hahaha!

I'm glad I never got ibro G2's.  All the "good ones" were only available in Europe! LoL

I remember being so excited when G2's were about to be released...then I saw Morning Glory at Walmart and basically had the reaction of "nope!"

Not very any Pegasi either with G3's.

The small amount of unicorns and pegasi in G3 was a big disappointment to me.  There were more pegasi than unicorns but still not very many.

I remember I was at Comic Con just before or just as Star Catcher (the first G3 pegasus, who was sold as a single) was coming out and the Hasbro booth people told me they were using her to "test if pegasus ponies would be popular."

???

How on earth was that something that needed to be "tested" rather than "no duh pegasus ponies will be popular"?

Yeah, the G3 unicorns are pretty hard up. They don't even have babies! Even the pegasi got two babies, but none for the unicorns. Just a lot of variants for Rarity and Sweetie Belle.

Yeppers, my G3 collection is rather small. SLH's and unicorns. LOL. I'm far from having all of the few that I want.

Probably just a flimsy marketing excuse for not wanting to spend another half-cent on the extra plastic required for wings.
