Question about Rosedust
« on: December 25, 2014, 01:36:35 PM »
Hey you guys, I've got a question. Recently Ive got two Rosedust ponies from my B-friend, and they seem to be different. But what is funny, both are made in same year and both in the same country- China. I don't know why those ponies are so different, check it out:

Cutie marks are in different colour as well as eyes. Plus eyes are painted differently. One is much taller than the other and I think that one of them have bigger head. Plus one have blush. Any Ideas why they are so different???

Flutter ponies have a head variant. One head is larger and one head is smaller. From what I understand both head types are common.

Thank you for your reply! That explains the head, but what about the cutie mark? And why one is taller, and its not the head, one of the have longer legs. And as I look at those pictures...One of them seems slimmer??

Rosedust tends to have some variations since she was released two different years. :)

If you mean the year stamped on their hooves, that's just the year the mold was made, not the pony specifically :)

Looks like you've got two versions of her! The stamp will be the same as Aerora pointed out, the year is the year the mould for pony was created.

I'm not sure if the variants with the "fat" heads are from different set releases. The original six were released in year 4. The next set was released in year 5, and only rose dust and lily were re-released. However fat head versions of all of the original six can be found. I think it's just a matter of which factory produced them. It's common in most ponies to find slight variations in poses and colors due to this!
Correct me if I'm wrong though! That's just my thinking and understanding!

As others have mentioned its pretty common for all the flutters :) (In fact its common across most MLP sets to meet ponies with minor variations) But this difference is popular and easy to spot in Flutters! It is just batch differences combined with the ponies being released in multiple years and many countries that causes the minor changes.

Congrats on having both of them!
