The Christmas Pony - A Special Story

The Christmas Pony

Many years ago, long before some of you were even born, there was a special little pony that found herself all alone one Christmas.
She had been in the toy store for such a long time just waiting for that special someone to come along.  But it just never seemed to happen for her.
Others were chosen and they left the shop to start a wonderful life as a gift for some special child but not her.

The shop keeper gave her a grooming parlor to keep her comfortable, clothing, skates and even a cute little hat but none of it brought comfort to the Lonely little pony.  It was the Season when toys yearned to be shared.  As the shop became busier and busier and more and more of the toys left for their new homes she became discouraged that she would be left all alone on Christmas day.

Christmas Eve had arrived and she was sure no one wanted her for that special gift under the tree.
The shop keeper was about to put up the closed sign when a man entered the store, looked around and spotted the pony in the window.  He was in a hurry, he had just arrived back into town from business and was on his way home to be with his family for the Holiday.  He had not had time to shop for his little girls Santa Gift.  The Pony in the Window display would work just wonderfully.  The shop keeper quickly wrapped the little pony for his customer and as the man left the shop he wished him a Very Merry Christmas. 

The man stepped into his taxi with his gift wrapped and the lonely little pony would be lonely no more.
The next morning the little girl opened the gift “Santa” had left under the tree to not only find the Lovely little Pony, but her parlor, skates, dress and even her cute little hat.  It was the best gift Santa had ever brought to her and the pony felt she had been given the best gift too, a little girl.

The pony and the girl had many good years of play together before the little pony found herself stored away.  Her  mother felt the girl has outgrown the doll and more important things were taking place in her life such as parties, boys and school, you know things like that.  There was no longer time in the Girls busy life for the little pony.  That poor little pony spent many years stored in the box on the top shelf of the closet.  Put away with her accessories she hoped to someday see the light of day and her own special “Person” again.  And then it happened.  The box was taken down from the Closet shelf and carried away…

And so another Christmas came to be with all the presents wrapped and left by Santa under the tree.
And on that glorious Christmas Morn the little pony was once again free.  But the little “Person” who unwrapped the “Santa” gift was not her girl but her girl’s own child ready to take on her mother’s toy, the little pony Santa gave her mother so long ago. 

And thus the life of the Little Pony, to be loved and cared for from Mother to Child.

That was a very touching story. I think that it goes for most toys that are unloved. They need a new lease on life to be loved again by their children's children.
