Hiya
When I started making miniatures earlier this year I didn't intend to mix it with ponies (who am I kidding? ponies get in everything
) but I've found I really, really enjoy making customs with mini food. It's relaxing working in a small scale and best of all it doesn't take very long. One major reason I've never really taken commissions is because I work very slowly, and I hate having people waiting on me - it stresses me out. Also I think I backed myself into a corner because I kept trying to do these huge projects with all this sculpting and wild ideas... it just drained me and I wasn't enjoying it anymore. I still lack confidence to do just paint commissions, so those are out too. But mini food? I think I can handle that.
These are the ponies I've done so far-
And these are some of the miniatures I've done. I can make pretty much anything, or at least, I haven't tried something that didn't turn out.
I would want to stick with food for now and maybe branch out into other minis later. The custom would get a FBR if applicable, rehair, eye paint and maybe simple symbols/abstract design like on the Halloween pony. I might even do small wings. But the focus would be on the minis.
Would there be an interest in customs like that?
If so, how much would you expect to pay? (experts I'd like your opinions on this in particular). I know people say you should charge materials plus time but that's hard to figure out. And that's if anyone would want ponies like this in the first place
