I need some help! 3ds related
« on: November 24, 2014, 01:16:37 PM »
My 8 yo daughter got a 3ds for her birthday and has enjoyed playing Olaf's quest. She also has the G3 mlp ds game. She liked it but it was too easy. I need some suggestions! What game do you think wouldn't be too hard or too easy? Would pokemon be good? Which one? Any others? I'm totally clueless so I desperately need help!  :what:
Thanks devonshireRed for the avi!

I started playing Pokemon when I was 9, so I don't think she's too young for it.  Actually, I think that's a great age to get started!  I'd suggest X or Y versions.  I would say one of the newer ones, but X and Y had the option of customizing your character and that was a pretty fun part of the game.

Hm... any of the Mario games would be good.  Super Mario 3D Land is a fun one!  Kirby: Triple Deluxe is one of my favorite 3DS titles, as is Yoshi's New Island.

I think Pokemon would be great. It's fun, it's relatively easy, and according to hubby Pokemon Trainers start their quests at 9 years old, so I'd say she's close enough.

I think Pokemon would be perfect -- I've never met a kid who doesn't like Pokemon! lol It's broadly considered to be the best game on 3DS, and is definitely suitable for her age group :)

Animal Crossing! :)

Also, maybe a good time for her to give Mario Kart a spin?

Another vote for Pokemon; I think she's the perfect age to enjoy it.

Maybe Nintendogs? I haven't played the 3DS version because I don't have a 3DS, but I really enjoyed the original DS version. Who doesn't like cute lil' puppies?

And maybe see if there's any games based on movies/shows that she likes? Those can be a lot of fun.

Definitely Pokemon X or Y! I would also suggest Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

Man, pretty much anything that's rated E would be good for her when it comes to Nintendo: Pokemon, Mario, Kirby... I know there's a Tangled game (I haven't played it but I want to) and I believe there is a Brave game on DS. You could even just browse Amazon and look at the "customers who looked at this also looked at" sections.

Thank you!! So many good suggestions. I think I will take a look at pokemon  x and y since it has that customization option. She'd really like that. Kirby also sounds fun. Thanks for suggesting animal crossing too. I didn't know that was available for the 3ds.

I highly recondmend Pokemon (played since the games come out!), Epic Mickey, Kingdom Hearts, Zelda games (great puzzles), and SSB! Never to young or old for nintendo classics!

It's SUPER fun! You make a Mii and you live in a kingdom called Castleton. (Which is hilarious to me because there's a suburb of Indy called Castleton!) Lots of different characters live in Castleton. But you can also travel to different Disney worlds.

The 100 Acer Woods is the one you unlock first because that's where you have your garden. You grow plants in your garden, then you use what you grow to make food to sell in your cafe. That's how you earn coins. You use the coins to buy clothes, furniture and other things.

The other world are Aladdin, Cinderella and Alice in Wonderland. Those three worlds have what the call episodes. Episodes are little adventures that you go on to complete quests. You use your magic wand to defeat the ghosts and either rescue a Disney character or help one find a lost item.

There's also downloadable content that you can get over the WiFi. Some is free some cost real money. One you can download is the POTC world.

Pokémon hands down!

I would wait a few years before introducing her to Zelda but its another great game.  She may beable to play it now as well, depending on how she is with adventure games.
