When do you put your Christmas tree up?

Our family's tradition is to go to the forest together at 23rd December and pick a tree, bring it home and decorate it.

depending on how deep its stashed in the storage barn. lol weve gone as far as december 1st, making it a kinda birthday fun thing for my son lol. But now that I just shoved it in my laundry room this year, theres no reason we wont have it up after thanksgiving this year.

I usually think of Thanksgiving as my "start" to Christmas, but my fiancé wants to but the tree up earlier this year xD. We will see...it's not up yet!

Tempted to put it up now... we've got our first layer of snow!! I wouldn't put decorations on it until after Thanksgiving-ish, unless maybe some simple snowflake ornaments. I call it a "winter tree". When the lights and family ornaments go on, then it's a Christmas tree.

Last year it was weekend before Thanksgiving, but typically I stick with the Thanksgiving weekend thing.

Last year I left our tree up until late January/early February, which is a bit long, but I felt too lazy to take it down for quite awhile after Christmas.  I do like the lights so that's another reason ours stays up for quite awhile.  I usually try to take it down second weekend in January.

Last year I put mine up the day after Halloween lol! Mine is currently waiting to go up until tomorrow or this weekend, depending on time. I have an elaborate decorating theme, so it is an all day project    My friends used to tease me, but after they see my tree they usually shut up lol! I have had 3 messages now asking if its up yet so people can come see! Unfortunately when my mom moved we had to get rid of tons and tons of decorations, so now I only have maybe 2 different ways I can do the tree, last year was bronze and gold, the year before was red and silver. The boyfriend suggested blue and silver this year, but sadly that was one of the totes I had to get rid of .. some of my favorites were blue and metallic purple but then I also used a different tree for that theme - and all the trees except one had to go too. ugh.. rambling complete

We tend to do it between Black Friday and December 1st. Since it's just the two of us, it really depends on how tired we are. We actually have some decorations from last Christmas that we never took down so that's less work for this year. :p

Iv been tempted to put ours up this week too. Mostly because of things we've all been dealing with around here. I just figured maybe it would cheer the place up or something. But i also don't want to look like that crazy person who puts their tree up 2 months before the actual holiday lol.

I guess Ill wait for my son to get home from school and see if he feels like doing it with me.

Ah, I have little fake trees I put up right after Thanksgiving.  If I get a live tree, maybe a week before Christmas, but it varies a bit.

But if you want to put up a tree earlier, go for it!!  Esp if it is fake, you don't have to worry about it drying up before Xmas.

lol all of this! our cats our old and dont try to climb it at least. But we stopped getting breakable ornaments. all of our baubles are shiny plastic, and you can bet that any of them on the bottom section of the tree will be missing or rolling around on the floor after the first day.

We did have one cat, well it was technically my moms boyfriends at the time, and he slept in our fake tree lol. our fake tree isnt very um.. fancy? but some how this giant cat decided that the lower section of bars were the most comfy place. this cat was so heavy (not even fat! just heavy) that he bent the bars that made the lower row of branches, and these bars are REALLY sturdy lol. So now we still have this giant gap in our tree, in memory of Franklyn rofl.

We put our tree up right after my birthday, so mid November. By this point, Thanksgiving and Remembrance Day have passed, so it doesn't feel too early, plus I get to enjoy how pretty all the decorations look
