Painted our Walgreens Blank Ponies

Recently we picked up the Walgreens G4 "Paint Your Own Statue" kits.

I made Honey Buzz!

and the kids painted a Pinkie PIe, G1 Sweet Pop and "Crimson Heart" (LOL, my 8yo ds)

Very cool! Mine are still blank because I don't quite trust the paint that came with it, but I'm glad to see someone else going all out! Yay Honeybuzz!

How hard were these to paint? Any problem with the paint itself?

they were okay to paint, but not enough paint included to do two coats.  almost out of red.  I should have done two!

the figures themselves "take" the paint ok.  the material almost feels 3d printed.

Those are adorable! I like the idea of Honeybuzz. I am going to move this over to the Arts & Crafts Corral for you.

Honeybuzz is one of my favourites, great choice! It matches with the blind bag version too, I believe? The Pinkie Pie base I mean, correct me if I'm wrong or mix her up with some other pony... It's so cute your kids would join in the activity, too!

Too bad they only include so little paint with the ponies, a second coat would certainly give you more even results. I kind of like the effect on her body though, nice texture! It reminds me of the crackle medium you can use with acrylic paints, or maybe some neat watercolour effects.

I haven't bought any of those kits, but it looks like it was probably a great activity to do with your kids.    I love seeing family craft projects!  They all turned out really cute.
