Any hope for this baby Lemondrop buggy or can I customise?

I have this baby LD buggy and its so discoloured it looks awful...its definitely not display worthy however if there is no hope of getting the colour back somehow, then I will customise it. I was just wondering if there was any way to restore it first before I paint it.

Its funny you should say that because I was going to make it very halloweeny than it is! hehe....

Have you tried a hydrogen peroxide treatment?  Generally effective on restoring sun-discolored hard plastics, there's a bunch of tutorials out there.

And Testor's model glue- great for plastics. Oh, wait, it's not broken? Hmm... I'd try hydrogen peroxide.

they fade so easy.. Mine's faded to a powder blue - I like it that way so I kept it...

I'm not sure if the hydrogen peroxide would help fading - maybe a dye bath?

The hydrogen peroxide treatment definitely works, I've done it myself on playsets and accessories. It's much easier on items with no stickers, especially if they can be submerged. I think in the end I got cream for the bigger items, but that gets fiddly.

If you can dye this even darker, though...

Hydrogen peroxide is only going to work on something when its discoloured due to age or environment - i.e. the basic colour is still there is just been changed due to surface oils or similar. Unfortunately this buggy looks like its faded so the red pigment has gone.

There is no way to restore it to the original purple unfortunately although I admit I would be tempted to try and even it out to the blue as thats a lovely colour! However thats not going to be its original condition either so I think you should totally change it up

Yes! I was going to say that it looks kind of... evil. In a good way. It would be awesome with a Halloween theme. (But if you can restore it that would probably be better in the long run.)
