Hi peeps, a friend added me to the unofficial FB page and I realized how much I missed pony stuff. I haven't drawn anything for months, but out of the blue came this idea for Mimic and her feathered friends :-)

Oh thats beautiful! Your style and detail for the background are stunning - I love macaws and Mimic so this is perfect!

Lovely scene! I like that you kept Mimic's original pose and gave a context for her raised head and upward gaze. The macaws are pretty, I love how they match the colours of Mimic's mane and tail, and I really love the layered cutout look of the background. Great to see you found your inspiration again! I always find pony art a great way to get over an art block, drawing ponies is so relaxing.

Thanks for the compliments guys! I'm already working on another pony picture that I hope turns out just as well.

Uninu, I'm not sure how long it took me come to think of it, but definitely a few hours. I blocked ina ll the main colours with markers, then went to town with pencil crayons on top :-)

I have two budgies and a cockatiel, hathorcat, so it was easy to put both together. I regret that there are not more parrots :-D

Gorgeous!  I love how you used Mimic's toy pose for the picture, but still managed to not make it look stiff.  But I think my favorite bit is actually the background and the macaws.  They really just pull the whole thing together for me.    Great job!

Yes, I'm glad I could keep Mimic's original pose too Griffin! I have been looking at other ponies and seeing if I can do the same :-)
