*shrug* I don't know how they do it, but they often have SDCC exclusives available the first day of the con too. Granted it's only a sticker on a box claiming so, but that still means there's more stock available than the numbers claimed in the 'limited edition' total.

I'm just glad that we have Popcultcha down here because otherwise we'd be waiting months longer or not even get these at all.

In the case of SDCC exclusives it's easy to explain as Funko has/does this preorder thing (aimed at retailers) for their SDCC exclusives.

I wonder if Popcultcha is maybe a subsidiary of Hot Topic? Wouldn't surprise me.

I am curious to see if they will get the Celestia and Luna Funko vinyls as well.  I'm glad there is a less expensive option for Aussies at least since shipping is usually so killer  (although for the next 2 days apparently international shipping at Hot Topic is on sale...lol)

Most of the "exclusivity" aspect is probably country specific so that allows Funko to sell them to whomever they like outside the US. Even if something is exclusive to a retailer in the US, if its country specific only and as long as Funko have not imposed any restriction its perfectly possible other retailers will show items before the stores which have a US exclusivity.

I would hope the 25th Anniversary is for Hot Topic - doesnt make sense for it to be MLP

I'm not sure if you've noticed, but Hot Topic really loves Rainbow Dash.  Also, she sells well.  Better a main character than one of the background characters that might not sell as much.

On the plus side, if metallic Rainbow Dash really is in honor of HT's 25th anniversary, then hopefully that means no more metallic variants of the Funko vinyls.

Just stopped by my local Target and saw the glittery-mane RD. I came here to report it but I find a 6-page thread on it already lol!

I'm not up for supporting another Funko re-release myself, but if anyone wants me to pick one up for cost+shipping, just let me know. They weren't with the pony toys, surprisingly. They were in the toy section of the store but they were on an endcap with other random non-MLP toys.

I saw the target Rainbowdash this weekend on an end cap with a target exclusive hello kitty and la la loopsey. It was a small white, silver/gold display. Kinda cute, still not for me though, too many recycles.

Yup!  They started popping up almost two weeks ago at Target.  Each Target only got 6 of her, apparently.  When I went to get mine, I had been the only one to ask about her so they still had 5 in the back.  There's already a topic about it.
