Using honey as a face wash!
« on: October 09, 2014, 01:48:36 PM »
I got a large thing of honey that had sugared and I decided to try using it to scrub my face. (I've used it as a mask before with a little avocado)
My skin is softer and clearer than when I was using a way more expensive cleanser. Honey has antibacterial properties and cleared the little bit of acne I had. I also need much less moisturizer than before.
Thought I'd share as I know most of you wash your face at least sometimes! Plus, it's totally green!

I use a honey, sugar, and olive oil scrub on my face - not every day, but usually about once a week. I love the way my skin feels afterward.

I might have to try this. I've been looking for something to clear my skin up, but I also don't want to spend a ton of money on something that possibly won't work. This seems simple enough, though!

Wow, cool! I may try this. When I take baths I use a product that is made up of milk and honey in the bath, but I haven't ever tried honey as a facial mask before...

Interesting.  I know my sister uses it on chapped lips but I might have to try for the face

Sounds great! I actually use a Burt's bees face wash. It's ok, and I don't have massive break outs since I've been using it for about 6 months. I need some natural recommendations for something for fine lines. I feel so old!

i put honey on a slice of lemon and rub it onto my face, leave for 15-20 minutes once a week. it clears my spots, helps with shine and makes my skin so soft. better than any bought skin care product i've ever tried and my skin is terrible for outbreaks and dryness!

So do you guys mix it up and keep it in a container, or just mix it up as you need it?

You can mix it and keep it in a container in the fridge for 2 or more weeks.

I've heard that honey is great for your skin, I may have to try this as I'm in the market for something to help with the random breakouts I'm getting on my cheeks. Thanks for sharing!
