What would be your ultimate thrift store find?

My dream would be to find a Mountain Boy just hanging out at the thrift store. That would be amazing And why not be picky...it happens to be Tornado..and then as I keep searching I find Thundercloud.

Definitely a Teeny Twin Snookums with slightly bleeding symbols and a white mouth that indicates that she was probably fed toothpaste from her little bowl at one point. Why? I found Sniffles in the same condition! I kind of squealed a bit because toys at that thrift are usually 25 cents! She cleaned up really nice, she's probably considered near mint.

Ahaha, but there are more valuable things to find... When I first saw my baby Sunribbon I thought she was sister Sweet Celebrations and wondered how she got all the way over here! Slight disappointment, but at least she's mildly uncommon. I was just happy that I'd finally seen a G1 in person for the first time! But any pony that never made it to the US would be an absolute joy. S'pecially those Takara ponies...

Those dreams! I always seem to invent new ponies for those, like fakie Mimic in Buttons' pose, G4 SS heads on G3 styling bodies that somehow looked perfectly show-accurate to FiM, or of course the apparently ultra-rare newborn version of 10th Birthday Pony, in Yoyo's pose! I think the only "real" pony I've had in a dream is reverse baby Candy. She was in a box with newborn Birthday and I wanted them but the lady who lived in the house decided to change her mind about selling them. Turns out her daughter was pregnant with a girl all of a sudden and she wanted them to be her granddaughter's first toys. I started yelling at her, then suddenly I couldn't talk, and then I woke up. Need to make a custom of that B-day pony!

I would love to find G1 Rapunzel at yard sale/thrift shop. That would be so awesome if that happened.

My heart always races when I find G1s in a thrift store (it's very rare). I'm pretty sure I would have an actual heart attack if that happened, and just die in the store.

Someone in Seattle (MY OWN TOWN) found a PIGGY pony at the Goodwill bins... I don't even remember who it was, but I always am hoping for similar luck, hehe...

Unfortunately, Goodwill seems to have recognized the worth of G1 ponies and slapped nearly all of them onto their shopgoodwill site. I can't even remember the last time I saw a G1 pony at the bins or the thrift store...


I think my greatest find was Mimic, although that was the flea-market not the thrift store. Still, it feels the same.

Hey, I go thrift shopping in Seattle all the time! I have never found any G1 ponies, there, though. A piggy pony is a truly amazing find!! Not many people must have known what it was.

My dream was to find the hot topic rainbow brite snow globe. I really wanted it when you could buy it back in 2003 but my parents refused; it was too expensive. I found it at savers 3 or 4 years ago...

I always fantasize about going to a flea market and finding a box of pokemon that has all the hard-to-find ones in it, like Porygon, Tauros, Ditto, etc. They would be pretty well-loved, since they were owned by a kid, but now he's not interested in them anymore, so his's mom says, "I don't know, give me seven bucks for the box, I guess. Does that sound okay?" And of course it is!

Pony-wise, I'd love to find a baggie that have a few ponies I want, like Clipper and Tap Dancer, and then a couple more expensive ones I could sell, like say Mimic or Rapunzel. I'm in the US, so I wouldn't hope for anything crazy like nirvanas... just a Mimic would be enough.

Non-pony, hmm. . .  I'd love to find an American Girl doll, preferably Samantha or Kit.  I have found one before but she's not in good shape and I've never found a historical one.

I agree with unicornprincess. I would love to see Rapunzel's long hair sticking out of one of those goodwill toy bins. Then look at her price tag and it would say 99 cents!!

I think my most epic thrift store find was when I found a bag full of ReMent. There were 10 mostly complete sets (one was just missing the bags and stickers) and a table.

Pony - A South African pony, I'd probably have to sell it as I couldn't handle holding on to such an expensive pony. Then I'd probably buy a couple of grails instead

Non pony - a painting that turned out to be something worth a hundred thousand dollars or more.... yep I can dream right

I don't know to be honest, at the moment, nothing toy wise, since my life is revolving once again around Mac cosmetics - oh I know, a Mac voucher for like £500!
