What would be your ultimate thrift store find?

Pony and non-pony?
I sometimes have dreams where I find a super rare pony (made up entirely by my imagination) in a totally random place, like a skii lodge, and when I go to pay for it,  I wake up. I would love to find any rare G1 pony - my best find so far is a Macau pony for $5.

Last year, I found one of those Kenner xenomorphs from around the time Alien 3 was released; it's a transparent green mantis alien and it is the most. awesomely. tacky thing. EVER! I also had the good fortune to find a Keypers swan in amazing condition for £2, which completely made my entire week.

Are yard sale finds acceptable?
My husband picked this up for a dollar and I was looking it up price wise. Thinking I would resale it for 5 bucks or something on my Etsy store.

They were ranging from $114.00-155.00 on my searches on similar items that I have sold. I wasn't finding the same patterns as this one though. But I was still shocked. Then I found one of the same pattern unsold on Ebay.

I would love to find G1 Rapunzel at yard sale/thrift shop. That would be so awesome if that happened.

I agree with unicornprincess. I would love to see Rapunzel's long hair sticking out of one of those goodwill toy bins. Then look at her price tag and it would say 99 cents!!

Haha I often see in dreams that I receive a huge box of G3s or go to a shop filled with them. Once I saw a dream where even prototypes were on the shelves! But when I proceed to pay for the or open the box, I wake up xD

i've had dreams like you guys were mentioning, too haha. i'll be at some kind of thrift-type store and suddenly be overwhelmed with so many pony finds i can't carry them all and then worry about how i'll pay for them 

but obviously it'd be difficult to pick a single item to find, cause i'd love to find a venezuelan cotton candy, tux n' tails, or nachtlicht. they aren't really anything i'd ever expect to find, though, since my thrifting adventures so far haven't been generous in the pony department.

Someone in Seattle (MY OWN TOWN) found a PIGGY pony at the Goodwill bins... I don't even remember who it was, but I always am hoping for similar luck, hehe...

Unfortunately, Goodwill seems to have recognized the worth of G1 ponies and slapped nearly all of them onto their shopgoodwill site. I can't even remember the last time I saw a G1 pony at the bins or the thrift store...


I think my greatest find was Mimic, although that was the flea-market not the thrift store. Still, it feels the same.

Really finding any G1 in a thrift store would get me pretty excited.  But for the ultimate?  A playset with ALL THE ACCESSORIES.  Like the Perm Shoppe or something.
