POP Ponies Anyone?

Hey guys,

I'm not sure if a thread has already been made about this semi-new line but, I was wondering what's your thoughts and opinions on these little guys? 

Personally when I first heard about them I was very hesitant and a little disappointed.  However, after watching a couple of reviews and seeing plenty of pictures...pop ponies became quite adorable.  They are a pretty cool concept tbh, they are a little cheap but, eh? It's something new.  My mother mentioned they look like McDonalds toys, which made me laugh.

I'm pretty excited for the new lines to drop.  I'm slowly being sucked back into the g4 line, definitely didn't see that one coming.

I think that they are really cool! I hope we will see more playlets in the future though (like the sweet shop).

Mom called them something like Mr. Potato heads.. so Miss Potato Ponies
The plastic is pretty sturdy though from what I have seen with the one I'm customizing... not like that thin cheap plastic used for the DG and DT barbie fakie horses... I don't think you can really break them unless you actually smash them with a hammer *cue Yzma's smashing a bug plot*

Woud be fun if they made soms with random parts instead of other official character. In that way its easier to create your own ponies.

love em. Love to build "new" characters.  just got my Lyra in the mail yesterday!  Gonna Make MINTY (the unicorn!) with her.

I like them a lot more than I thought I would.  While they aren't as fun to put together as the different Japanese model kits I've gotten for Pokemon and Chopper (from One Piece), it's still a neat idea and perfectly good time waster.  I've only gotten Pinkie Pie with the sweet shop set so far, but I love it!  If they make more sets like that, I'll be buying more!

They're pretty cute and varied- I love that little house they come with.  I like the plastic hair styles and wish they'd come up with some cuter soft hair styles (don't love the felt or yarn).  The newer sets seem to be even better (have my eye on that Celestia one).

I'd like some more body colours - need some green (like Mimic green), then I can make a POP Kiwi

I just cant bring myself to love them. I think its like the blind bags for me...I feel like they detract a little from the line. However, I do understand the market they are after and at least Hasbro are trying this with MLP rather than launching their own line. So cute but not for me.

I didn't like them at first. I felt it was just another way to release the mane 6. However, I have this policy to have at least one of every line in my collection, so I decided to get Zecora, and I must say I actually like her a whole lot more than I thought I would! The quality is a lot higher than I thought it would be, and she's really quite cute!

I still am hoping for more brushables, though

LOL, I totally agree with your sentiments about the felt and yarn (yuck!).  Which is why I am so extremely picky when it comes to these gals.  And I'm also waiting for Celestia and the new Cadance to come out !

not to argue, but I love the yarn.  It's so different.. and "patchwork-sy", it adds a little fun for me and fits the theme, with the heart "buttons" and stitches.

I'm liking them a lot more than I thought I would. I got to play with them a bit at the MLP Fair, but I missed out on the POP giveaway events. I bought Applejack first to give them a try. Then I bought the Luna/Rarity set just for the fuzzy, furry hair. Now I want more! I think I'll get Zecora next.

Just picked up Zecora. Has anybody painted her stripes? I'm tempted to do it but I would like to see a finished one first.
