Hi everybody!

So my 5-year old son has requested his very own so soft (fuzzy/flocked) pony, but in "real horse colors".  I've read a tutorial or two on how to flock, and what to use, but was wondering if anyone recommends any particular brand/seller of flocking.

Has anyone flocked a big brother pony before, because that's what I'm considering using as bait, since I have a very poor condition one laying around.

Thanks in advance for your help!  And if you have pics, I'd love to see them.  :D

Here is a great tutorial!

http://cherrycake.freeservers.com/SSTutorial.htm

Some thing to consider: Ponies flocked in this manner look great, but are far more delicate then MLP So Softs.  The glue can peel right off and the flock is "laying" on the glue rather than professionally applied.  Best for display ponies.

Also, as the glue is modge podge, which is water soluble, these ponies are not waterproof.  Water will reactivate the glue and leave a sticky mess. :/

Other than that though, have fun!

I used this tutorial as well when I was making this Dancing Butterflies SS pony. And I agree Colorscapesart, this is best for display ponies.

Thank you so much for the input! :) I kind of figured it was better for display than play.  Fortunately, he's not too rough with his toys, and he understands "gentle play" items, so I might give it a try.

Those custom flocked ponies are fantastic! They look really great.  Dancing Butterflies is such a pretty pony.

Thanks again for the help, y'all!

I have a flocking machine I'm dying to try out but I just can't locate flocking like the ones used on the SS. One of the future plans is trying to cut up lace and use that but not sure how that'll work. The flocking machine makes the flocking stand upright

That sounds awesome. :) Would love to know how it works out for you.  Are none of the flocking that's available online the same quality?

Haven't found any online :( Searched shops here and there but nothing but the model flocking used on maquettes
