I was happily bidding on this auction but I didn't expect it to go so high? I thought I knew my accessories but maybe I missed something?

Though congrats to the seller for getting such an awesome price! I do wish I had that much money to spend on ponies.

Given the individual value of each item, it's not that ridiculous. The 500 ribbons alone are worth $1-3 each. Most of those barrettes are worth $5-10+ a piece, plus multiple squirrel clips worth around $10 each, and Pristina's barrette worth $40-50. A lot like this could easily fill in the gaps in someone's collection and leave a lot of room for profit if each item was sold separately.

WOW thats a lot of hair accessories!!!! I agree, that still seems like a crazy price!  I bet that seller is very happy though, at least if the buyer decides to pay. LOL

Kitkat - true, I just thought for some reason that bulk lots usually go much less than if the items were sold individulally. I must just be dreaming.

Elf - I know it was a really pretty lot. I'd been drooling over it since I found it 5 days ago, I was quietly biding my time hoping I could get a heap of ribbons and cool barrettes. But sadly with the currency conversion it ended up being over NZD$1000 which I can't afford even if I saved up.

I thought it was insane too!  I mean, $866 for ribbons and barrettes?  Even if they may be worth about that much individually, that's no bargain!  When you sell in bulk, usually the price goes down vs. selling individually.  And who has $866 to spend on ribbons??  I like original ribbons too, but geez!!

I was watching that lot! There are a lot of nice sought after barrettes in that lot. I'm not surprised by the price at all. I was expecting it to go around that or higher.

Totally bizarre to me especially since I care nothing for accessories except cute ones that add to the pony like princess ones or something. Cheap plastic junk or meh ribbons. I should find my last bag of it and sell it. I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority who just doesn't like having them.

Yeah, I stopped watching after the bid went past $800. I mainly just wanted some of the ribbons and Taffetas crown clip which hopefully I'll be getting soon from someone. I have a bunch of ribbons, but only enough for maybe half my g1's and would love to just get a whole pile of them. A pile of pony ribbons! I know I'm crazy! Especially when you can substitute for fake ones, buy I'm a completionist and want everything original

I definetly don't think the buyer over paid. You would be paying atleast twice that if you bought everything individually in that lot.

Once the buyer picks through what they want out of the lot, with patients, and good listing skills, I have good faith that they will make their money back.

i kept all that stuff as a kid, but never used it. who knows where it is now,
i just don't like all the ribbons, barrettes or combs.
not sure if any i have are worth something, but i'd sell them if they are.
