ebay, suddenly realizing the value of ponies
« on: August 26, 2014, 06:09:54 PM »
so i made an offer on two auctions.
about 5$ each, cuz well the offers were open.
and all of her ponies were listed at 5 to 10$ each. so i figured why not.

well she accepted my offers, and when i went to ask for combined shipping. magically one of the ponies disappeared, and she requested to cancel the auction. all her other pony auctions shot up 10 to 20 $ each.
if the prices hadn't shot up, it wouldn't be so supsicious, but now i'm not trusting her.
i haven't authorized the cancellation of the auction as she just listed them, and i doubt she lost them this soon.
her shipping is 10 for priority on one pony. so i thought it was obvious to ask for combine shipping.

waiting to see what she does.

That's a bit shady and not even allowed.

Yep...sounds like a shady ebayer  I wouldn't agree to cancel it either unless she provides a very convincing reason. Did she give a reason at all??

she said she couldn't find it in the box.
told her i'd wait.

i did also mention that all the other ponies had gone up in price. since she had offered i get a different one.
wonder if her 35$ bubbles would be  a good replacement XD

no feedback... account only 10 days old

Wow some people, I've had people offer me more money for ponies I listed if I would sell them off ebay. I told them I couldn't cancel them as somebody had already bid. I would never cancel a bid so I could make more money off a pony.

yeah so frustrating!!
and it wasn't even a bid she's trying to cancel. it was a "make an offer" that she had accepted.

is there anything legal wise i can do to actually get the ponies?
i'm nervous about the ones she still has, but i do want them.
with 10$ shipping. they should be there by the end of the week.

there is a chance she really is new to ebay and it's an honest mistake, but man... makes me wonder.

This sounds very dodgy - and not allowed even is she *is* a newbie. I wouldnt cancel either.  She accepted your offer, she can send your pony - I doubt she's actually lost the pony since its obvious what her game is by doubling the prices on her other ponies. Sounds like she is regretting selling them for her original prices as she now thinks she can get twice as much money

That does sound shady- although I'll be the first to admit that when I'm selling a large batch of dolls or ponies, it is REALY REALLY easy to get things mixed-up and misplaced...

I am the first to admit it sounds shady but unfortunately there is not much in the way of doing anything to make her send it to you.  eBay can't force her to send it either

The only real way for there to be some sort of repercussion against her is for you to go ahead and pay for the items, it will then place the ball in the seller's court. She will either have to cough it up or potentially have a case opened up for item not received by you. This will not guarantee you will get the item but perhaps make her think twice in the future to keep a better eye on things.

no reply for several days... then suddenly "nope. still can't find it."
if i notice that she relists it in the next few days. am i allowed to leave negative feedback on the other auction?
or send a flag to ebay?

0.0!!!
just went to pay for it, and she actually upped the shipping price for just the one auction.
11$ for 3 ponies inside the US? i've never paid that much to send ponies.

ok. major update. this lady really has no clue what she's doing.....
she now took the shipping off entirely... but it won't let me pay since the shipping is not specified for my location....
*face slap*
after talking to her a little bit more... i just think she has no idea what she's doing... at all.
i'm trying to help her. cuz well.
the bright bouquet family i got from her.... i really really want it!!!
gonna keep coaching her. if she was a scammer... there would be more resistance etc email wise.
sigh

 :argh:

lady marked the auction as paid... without getting money from me... and has already paid for the shipping.
 now i'm at a total loss of what to do.

ok..this is getting totally confusing! first she wants to cancel since she "lost" the pony , then she wants to up the shipping , then she marks it as paid before you send payment?...  er...   :drunk:  I need to re-read the update
