Occationally I clean up the files to folders - on my desktop.
And maybe once a year if even then I go trough the folders and archive them somewhere else.

I have a bunch of shortcuts from stuff I downloaded years ago (mostly for emulators) that got put in when I first downloaded it and never really bothered to get rid of it. Most of the stuff I use frequently is pinned to the start menu anyway, besides my games. So I'll just navigate from there most of the time.

I also tend to keep my backgrounds for a really long time. I know there's some kind of background picture rotation thing you can get with Windows 7, but I like how dark this one is, it gives good contrast to the shortcuts.

Alright here's my phone. I feel like I don't use many aps compared to most people.
Pg 1, pg 2, then an unobstructed view of my background image (It's both my home and lock screen right now.)

Here's my desktop. I keep it pretty clean. I generally just use it for temporary storage - dragging or saving files there unti I move them into their more permanent locations. The only things on it right now are a couple of documents for a project I'm currently working on.

My desktop is really cluttered on the edges, mostly bu folder icons. I need them to be easy to access though! But because I have rotating images on it: featuring flowers, places close to my heart and my lovely and gorgeous SO, I always make sure that the icons won't obscure the view.
