Cute kawaii style musical frame! What is it!? Super cute!

So I walked past the charity store down the road from my work today and saw this in the window. Oh my gosh I think it's cute!
The guy in the shop was telling me that it is genuine Japanese and is collectable (I was not really listening to the rest of what he said as to be honest I was in a hurry to get to work as I was on my lunch break!) so paid and ran back lol!

So does any one know what this really is? Was the guy right or was it just speil to try make me buy (I was dressed in pony tees and kawaii bling today so he could have saw me coming lol)

When you turn the “happy happy happy" wheel the little clown rides the unicycle and it places a pretty twinklery tune! Awwww sweet!

Did it come with the picture in the frame or did you add it? It looks like its either a blythe or pullip doll.

Blythe is a fashion doll, about 28 cm (11 inch) tall, with an oversized head and large eyes that change color with the pull of a string. It was created in 1972 and was initially only sold for one year in the USA by toy company Kenner (later purchased by Hasbro). In 2001 the Japanese toy company Takara began producing new editions of Blythe dolls.

Pullip dolls also look very similar but they are Korean. . Pullip was first marketed by Jun Planning out of Japan; but the company underwent management changes in early 2009 and, since then, has operated out of South Korea under the name Groove. Pullip (풀잎) means "blade of grass/leaf" in Korean.

The picture was already in the frame. I think it's pullip doll because I'd recognise Blythe (omg I so want a Blythe doll one day!)
I'd love to think it's vintage but it's in such great condition that I think it's new with that retro kawaii styling. I think the guy in the charity shop was yanking my chain saying it's valuBle (let's face it, if it was so valuable how come I got it down to £4?) either way, I'm pretty happy with it, it will look great in my dreamy pony room! Xxx

The writing on the picture is Chinese. I don't think it's vintage, since it's a newer doll pictured...

and I never knew pullip was no longer with Jun planning. I used to be up to date each month on releases...I remember wanting mercu and jupi SO bad!

Sorry to drag up an older thread but I have the answer to the doll at least.  She is a Korean resin BJD made by a company called Dream Of Doll.
