Soo I mentioned that instead of going to the fair the wife and I had a trip instead. On the way home we stopped and got me new fur babies for my birthday!

Meet my new girls! First Willamina or Mina my little mink Berkshire

I've only had them a few days but already Mina is showing she has a large personality. She is constantly up and about and wants to know about everything.

Next is the girl I wanted badly. A little ruby eyes dumbo! My fist dumbo. The breeder thinks she will fade to a Siamese. I guess time will tell. Her name is Zooey

I know ruby/pink eyes have lots of sight issues. She actually usually keeps her eyes closed and hangs with her sisters. She isn't as active or bold as them yet, and prefers to snuggle against my neck and sleep.

Finally little Indiana or Indy. She wasn't actually the on I had reserved I had picked out one similar to her but with dumbo ears. The breeder accidentally mixed them and sold my girl before I got there. Granted I was mad, but I got over it once I met Indy. She has a big personality like Mina and is my explorer (hence her name). Lol she is my first pet named after a movie character instead of from something literature related.

I have five now the three girls and two older boys. I found another breeder close to my home that breeds Rex and Amercian Blues.  I wish originally I had gotten three boys instead of two. That way like the girls in case something happens to one they would still have a buddy.

When the girls are older I might get one last boy pair to introduce to my guys. After that I'm done. Lol don't want too many.

Awwwww! Thanks for sharing, they are adorable.  I used to have 3 rats for the same reason you said, it is a good idea to get 3, the more the merrier! I love the little babies ^_^ This thread makes me want to go adopt some.

Lovely new babies!! New little rats are adorable!

I have seven here and just based on my personal experience the girls do tend to have more health problems so you'll need to watch them carefully. A couple of my girls got mammary tumors.

Good luck with all your babies! They are so much fun to have around! Your boys will be all over your hands if you handle your girls before touching the and vice versa. They constantly make me laugh around here so enjoy!!
