Recommended MLP fanworks? (G1-G4)

I kind of feel like getting into the various fanworks the MLP community made over the years, from fanfiction to animation to voice dramas.  Tell us your favorites and give us a brief summary!

I'm not much for MLP fan works usually. I do sometimes watch a few channels on youtube though like FluffyMixer's Flufflepuff Tales and some of ZXInsanity & others' EqG spoof stuff.

Extremely biased here, but I'm never going to pass up an opportunity to promote my friend's fanfic that's linked in my signature

It's still in progress (and to be clear, started a few years ago, so it's been slow), but it's basically a more developed retelling of Midnight Castle, but with G4 characters and very creative and awesome interpretations of some of the G1 elements, particularly

. I personally find it very true to the tone (well, maybe a little darker) and characterization of both G1 and G4, but those are his strengths as a writer (if any Sonic fans are familiar with the webcomic Sea3on, he's the writer for that too).

Also, anything by egophiliac on Tumblr. I particularly like Slice of Life! It's FiM-based, but a lot of G1 ponies are in it as background/side characters (as well as the occasional G2/G3 pony)

I read all of Ponyville, that was short but really enjoyable.  It was like a pony version of the Simpsons or something.  I'll probably slowly go through all of these things whenever the mood strikes me, but while I'm at it I'll suggest something too.  There is an adorable pony webcomic called Kimono's Townhouse that actually still slowly updates.  It has great, pony sized props, which makes it even better!
