I am wondering how you tell the difference between regrind and mold on ponies?  Thanks

Regrind is typically hot pink or orange in color, usually something along the neon spectrum.  Sometimes it shows as white/yellow on blue ponies. Mold will typically be either dark brown or light brown with a tinge of grey/green.

Well, regrind is more like a discolored spot (e.g., an orange Party Time may get pink spots in various places), while mold is brown with a darker brown center. There's a debate over whether the tiny dark specks you see sometimes on ponies' feet, ears, etc. is actually mold or ingrained dirt, but it's referred to as "pindot mold." Hope that helps . . . this site has pictures and is very helpful for identifying and fixing mold and other problems:

Edit: Yep, agree with what lovesbabysquirmy posted above. :)

Well mould is a bit of a misnomer and several things seem to be called this, even when they are not. However things like age marks normally show as bruises under the plastic or dark brown/black dots on the plastic with faded out edges; pin dot which is actually ingrained dirt shows as lots of tiny little black dots [like the pony has black heads...yuck!]. Where as regrind is typically a bright pink or yellow and it almost looks as though the plastic has bleached out.

Very helpful, thanks!  It is so hard to tell sometimes what is really mold, and what is just a little black mark
