The Last Unicorn WIP Pix *** COMPLETE :) 7/24/14

Hello All - so I know there are a lot of customizers that have created "Last Unicorn" customs but what are your thoughts on using a G4 Fashion Style pony for Amalthea and a 8" pony for the Red Bull?  It would be an undertaking to say the least but I think it would be worth it.  What are your thoughts?

Just to make sure I understand, you want to make a custom of Amalthea and not her unicorn self? I think that would be really cool. For the Red Bull I would use a G4zilla, but that is just me.

I think the Bull would do better in a Big Brother mold, actually. They have the bulk and squareness more suitable to him. Also, it would serve as a great contrast to Amalthea! I feel the differences that this is clearly no unicorn and something sinister (not that BB's are evil) and other would really stand out if you used two different styles/gens of pony.

Just my thoughts though! I eagerly look forward to what you end up doing, Darkhorse!

Ohhh! Stalking this thread! Can't wait to see what you come up with (though I'm fond of your idea as well as some of the other suggestions mentioned here).  I just finished sculpting a Last Unicorn figure from a G1 Sweetheart Sister base. 

Can't wait to see how this turns out!

Oh man!  I would love to see how you do the bull.  I've always wanted to try/always wanted a Red Bull custom.

So you know of the bull. . . Would you re-pose him? I think the head would have to be down low with high shoulders for it to really look like the bull.

I was planning on sticking with the G4's, so I would use a Fashion Style G4 for the "Unicorn" (not Amalthea herself) and use a G4 8" aka G4Zilla as the Red Bull - yes there would have to be a lot of additional sculpting on the Red Bull custom to bulk him up and I would most likely do some reposing as well, will see what I come up with   The flames on the Red Bull is what will be the interesting part (ponders)

Also, I've never seen anyone do anything like what you are planning so I doubt anyone can truly help you much. As for scale, I think a g4zilla bull and a g4 brushable would be more film-accurate. He's freaking huge.

You should make a WIP thread - as for the flames I would build up them with Golden (or any brand really) Gloss Gel - it dries clear and you can build it up to look realistic - maybe some actual clay at the base though...hmmm
