Mod podge + TONS of glitter layers...?

I've FBR'd a pony. Now I'm on layer 5 of all out body glitter and mod podge.
I'm getting to the end of the container of matte mod podge. It's not spreading as nicely now.
Is it advisable to add some more water to the container and shake it up?
Also, I want about 3 more layers of body glitter, if I add water to just what I want to use (in a separate container) and really thin it out will it dry better ? (I go glue then I sprinkle on the glitter then fan time...)
(I've been working on this custom for over a month so I don't want to have something weird happen only to have to start all over again.)

Adding water to modpodge is fine, its usually what's best for a more even thinner layer when sealing ponies!

Thanks for the reassurance Saja. I've managed 2 more layers of glitter and wow is the whole process working and drying so much better. Why didn't I think to ask this 2 weeks ago? Thanks again.

Yep! Water is great! it makes drying a lot easier when you are doing glitter layers

I've been primarily using MP matte. On my first few customs I used gloss; I wasn't a big fan with how it changed the body color when it dried (ponies looked darker).

I ended up putting some in. This is the first jar that I've actually opened and it's lasted forever!

She's pretty glittery. She's not the most original idea, but has some sculpting. Hoping to have her done today!

The reason I ask is if you use GLOSS coat of anything it will make the glitter look deeper and more glittery. The light is able to penetrate the gloss layers easily and causes the glitter to refract on layers (because the glitter will be at all different angles. I've done a lot with glitter ponies and it give a "bass boat paint" appearance. I'm sure she looks sunning Can't wait to see her!!
