The Last Unicorn Plush. Price check and info?

Hey peeps, I'm super excited to share with you the lasted addition to my herd. THE LAST UNICORN PLUSH! DAS LETZTE EINHORN!
I found her in a pile of other cuddley toys at a carboot sale the other day. I have never seen these before or even knew they existed (if I did I would have tracked one down a loooooong time ago!)
I'm super happy with her, she is brightest white and with her tag Das Letzte Einhorn. Her legs are posable and she is absolutly beautiful.

Can anyone share any info on this girl? And facts at all as this is totally new to me! Did they not make u.k or USA versions ect?
Also, can anyone price check this girl for me?

I literally just went to the tour of the screenings Peter S Beagle is doing around the world, just last weekend. It was the most momentous moment of my whole life!
Also, she was a promotional toy from when the VHS first came out. You had to send in clippings or a coupon or something.

Are you sure that's the same one?  I distinctly remember the one on the back of my VHS box being sort of an off-white color and definitely laying down.  Of course, this was also many, MANY years ago, so I could very well be remembering it incorrectly, but this looks like a more modern-made plush than the one that was available back then.

I know the unicorn above pops up in Germany, but I'm not so sure it is an officially licensed product? There was a drawn out dispute between Mr. Beagle and the people with the rights to the Last Unicorn which only resolved a few years ago- which is why there was very little merch available (at least that is what I seem to recall)  but who knows- it is cute.

Yes the plush's ear tag in the OP's photo clearly shows the DVD cover art, not the original VHS release or even the second VHS release. So it's probably not that old.   But still in majorly good condition!

She is in fantastic condition which is what made me think she is not original 80s merch. That's ok even if she is only a year old I love her!
Still trying to find more info but Google is least helpful-keep the facts on TLU Plushes (old and new) coming in, I'm super interested to learn more xxx

I did some searching around after you posted that brag and I'm no price check expert but I saw some people on another forum (Actually I think it might have been the MLPTP?) talking about this specific promotional german version and that it runs for $60+ on ebay but you might what to do a bit more looking for something more accurate but I wouldn't be surprised if she was worth more!

Oh, that's a good point about her tag being of a newer design.  The German ones may not be from the 80's, then.  And there are at least 2 German ones.  I have a version that is similar, but smaller and not posable; I paid $70 for her in an open American Ebay auction.  The German versions may be semi-official; I heard that the manufacturer did not actually secure the rights to produce the toys, but I'm not sure.

There were American Last Uni plushes too, and I think they are vintage 80's.  Galactica posted a pic of the bigger one.  There's also a smaller version, also lying down.  I think the larger version has hoof feathers, but is otherwise similar.  I've seen the big ones sell for about $80 in good condition, the smaller ones somewhat less ($50-60).
