Rerooting eyelashes?
« on: May 22, 2014, 10:22:39 AM »
Has anyone ever rerooted eyelashes in Princess Royal Pink/Purple? I have some regular black nylon hair, but the original eyelash hair seems coarser and curlier than regular pony hair. I don't want to end up with black eyelash mohawks! Any ideas?

They are a bit of a pain to reroot as the holes for the eyelashes are tricky. Have you already got one without eye lashes, I take it?

I think the eyelashes are probably kanekalon rather than traditional nylon - if you reroot them with nylon you may struggle to get them as thick and curly as the original [although thats maybe not a bad thing :P] As you are rerooting with a thinner hair, I would just make sure to reroot with hanks which look too thick for the hole as you will need to get a good cross over to ensure it looks natural. There are a couple of good Sindy and Barbie eye lash tutorials about which will probably help you out. I am sure I have one in my favourites if you need it.

Have you thought about useing a set of false human lashes? you can get them at the dollar store. You can just cut them down to size and glue them over the holes. They look a lot nicer than the origional and they already curl the right way. You can even get fancy ones. I have a set Im going to use on a Princess royal pink Im restoring/alternate rehair.

Thanks! Yes, I have one without eyelashes. I had her as a child, and she is otherwise in perfect condition. But at the time (and maybe a little still now), those eyelashes creeped me out, so I cut them off!
