Perfect hair - howto?
« on: May 20, 2014, 10:47:40 AM »
I noticed spoosh has ponies with amazing hair.
Unfortuntely she hasn't been online since 2012 here so I can't ask her personally :(

How does one get such perfec hair? It's so shiney and not even on strand of hair is out of place.

I'm no expert myself, but I've had other people tell me how they do it. Lots of conditioner and sometimes hair straightening is a start to get perfect hair - although you have to be very careful with the straighteners as some ponies are prone to have their hair immediately BURNT OFF when touched by them (I've had first hand experience, it was tragic)  But I'm sure someone else can give you even better advice :)

Spoosh's ponies are just incredible, that hair is like soft-serve ice cream or something!  If anyone has experience in making ponies look that good, I'd love to hear!

Some people take pics of their ponies while the hair is still wet. But yes, conditioner and good combing through and sometimes a flat iron...

I have read about people using silicone-based products that are intended to protect car interiors, but haven't done this myself (yet). In theory, it seems like it could produce really nice results!

Hmm, I just got some G1s that I have to rehair anyway (due to hair cuts, not hair condition), so maybe I will try this first and post my results! Don't hold your breath though, guys. :)

Just so you know - spoosh is a he :)

You should get a couple of baits and experiment; there are so many different options when it comes to treating nylon hair and sometimes its a matter of getting your own grooming style. What works for some people doesnt seem to work for others. I like conditioner, flat iron only if the hair is frizzy however, a comb dipped in baby oil and brushed through adds a nice sheen as well.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

P.S. I just tried searching for ponies of the Spoosh of whom you speak but couldn't find. Would you mind posting a link I want to see too :)

I have bought several ponies from Spoosh because they are AMAZING.  His ponies always have hair that is soft and silky and he does not use leave in products which can mislead you into thinking the pony has great hair until you have it in your hands.  I don't know how he does it but he can style my ponies' hair anytime he wants!

I bought a lot of G3's once that had horrible, oily hair - and when I washed the horrible oil out, their hair was amazing! The seller had tried to 'fix' them, before sending them on, (they were god-awful in the photos) and my god it worked out in the end - they now possess the most beautiful hair of all my G3's. I messaged the seller, but to no avail - I have no idea what they used! I pop some garnier frizz control oil into my problem ponies hair and leave for a couple of days before washing out and doing the conditioning/straightening - I like to think it prevents knots being as bad, which stretch the hair when you go to comb it out.

I have found that a little conditioner works wonders! If I had the time and willpower, I'd condition all my ponies' hair
Idly searching for: loose, good condition G4 Blossomforth, Starbeam Twinkle, Plumsweet. TTM Celestia doll's wings Within UK or EU only, please.
Will also take in Pretty Pony Club (UK magazine) fakies.
