We've fostered a dog!

We've had a Staffordshire Bull Terrier called Ebony for five years - we knew her from four days old. Ebbie is a lovely lovely dog but we felt she might be getting a little lonely, and we wanted to look into rescuing a young girl Staffie for her to befriend.

That's our Ebbie.

We were approached by a rescue on Monday who said they needed a foster home for a staffie girl called Jazzie. She's less than a year old and is in a pound and her seven days in the pound were nearly up. The rescue didn't want her put to sleep but they had no room. So we took her on and today she arrived!

She's so sweet and lovely. We don't know her history but we're sure she's been bred. She's got a few bad habits and needs training but what a lovely lovely puppy she is. We're only fostering but we can adopt her if she and Ebbie hit it off. I'm just so relieved we saved a lovely innocent dog from being put down.

Awe, what a wonderful thing. I hope she does well with training and fitting in! It might take a little for her and Ebbie to settle, I certainly hope they do! I wish I could do something like this but my dog doesn't get on well with others.

That is so nice of you to take her in for a while. Sad to see so many unwanted dogs out there. People need to stop breeding them just for the money.  She is very cute

She's already getting the hang of sitting and waiting for her food, but she doesn't know her name at all.  Right now the silly puppy is terrified of my mum's electric recliner!

daaawwwww I love it when they hold their ears up! I wish my dog would do it more. Most of the time he pulls them back and looks terrified, even when he's happily wagging his tail sitting with you.

I agree with people needing to stop breeding so much, otherwise great animals like this pay the price.

Her and Ebbie were having a play around last night which is nice, Ebbs still seems a bit put out but that's cause she's not used to sharing!

We took her the vets today to clip her nails and have her checked over. She's two kilograms underweight but appears to be in good health otherwise. We're going to get her spayed soon.

Staffies are such a terribly overbred breed, the vet reckoned she'd had a pup too.

She's a lot more settled and chilled today, just got to stop her running off with my pokemon plushies! She and Ebbie shared a bed all night quite happily
