"Class of 1984" . . . that is so freaking cute!

See, this is what gets me.  Transformers takes new directions and introduces new characters and new "universes", but also pays attention to its past.  A lot of attention.  With MLP, yeah there's some G1 merchandise and a couple callouts in the comic books, but for the most part it's like "What is this Gee-Wun you speak of?"

I'm half convinced Hasbro doesn't even know they had a G2.

Agreed, sadly.

I feel part of it has to do with the influx of FiM fans. Suddenly there's this hot new demographic (which is really the 18-24 male demographic that everyone caters to) so Hasbro wanted a slice of that.

Unfortunately for us collectors, we got tossed to the side in favor of that and what really irritates me is that had collectors not sustained interest in the franchise for so long, well, we wouldn't have a G4 or FiM. Hasbro listens to the Transformers collectors, but MLP collectors aren't worth that attention either? You don't get to have it both ways, folks.

MLP has clearly had a core fanbase for decades and I'm just so tired of that fanbase being stepped on by certain groups of FiM fans and from Hasbro.

I hope so. And overall I'm quite happy more people are finding MLP! I just wish Hasbro would still acknowledge us now and again.

i think  to hasbro G2 is the  red headed  stepchild you dont speak of.

Also, off topic, I find the red-headed step child phrase interesting both because it isn't a commonly used phrase in these parts and also because all of my siblings including myself and the three steps are red headed.

Reading over the Facebook comments is beyond funny apparently no one knows what's already out! Several people said Rainbow Dash Twilight Rarity etc lol they do realize those ponies are already out right? Some said shining armor luna and even Pony lol did they don't look at the picture? And then some said Big Mac or Octavia even though Funko already made them. Majority looked like Octavia, Luna, or Discord. Still baffles me ppl said a mane 6 character for the exclusive... What do you want to bet hasbro actually reads those comments.
