SDCC exclusive - EXCLUSIVES ON HASBRO TOYSHOP

Every time I see this thread at the top of the Corral I think OMG it's been announced.  I hope it will be something neat.  I wasn't fond of the offering last year at all.

Hasbro must be holding out to be last Just about everyone else seems to have declared theirs or at least given hints. We are past when I expected it - thought around the first couple of days in June. It must be pending pretty soon.

Well Hasbro has announced a lot of its other exclusives- but not Jem or MLP.  I think the announcement for Jem was on June 5/6 last year, and the MLP announcement not long after (or maybe the same time)?

I cant decide if its a good or bad sign we have not seen it spotted on Taobao. Last years did not show up that way...and she was the first all moulded version. The previous versions have previously for a few years shown up on Taobao or via Chinese ebay sellers.

As its going to be "figures" - I still remain in fear of a doll + pony exclusive or, perhaps worse, some kind of ponyville/mini figs set.

I ask simply that I be completely and utterly proven wrong Hasbro give us a lovely art pony with proper pony hair!

Eeehh  yeah, I am thinking some kind of molded pony is one very good possibility.

A doll combo is another possibility, since the dolls do get onto Taobao, but I have yet to see them appear there in advance of their release date.

As long as it's not a repeat of last year's SDCC exclusive, I'll be fine.
But if it's going to be a doll/pony combo, the doll better look pretty or amazing.

Jem and MLP were announced at the same time last year. Maybe because SDCC is later this year than last year, the exclusive announcement is a bit later too.

they are slowly revealing the exclusive for eah. but i don't know how mattel and hasbro differ on this.
the sdcc is kinda like neverland. i hear a lot about, but i'm not convinced it actually exists.

Another key point - the MLP Fair is a week later this year but they seem to really have Hasbro's involvement with them drawing up specific poster art and all.  That art was posted on the the Fair's Facebook page this week.

Ah thanks for confirming!  Yes- it could be that it will be a few days later since the Con is a bit later (I hope not though!)  I am actually so on the edge of my seat about the Jem announcement, because I'm not 100% sure there will BE a Jem exclusive this year, and I don't want it to be yet another Jem...  but it probably will be...

Er, and as for on topic, I REALLY REALLY hope that it is a rooted pony-   I am REALLY hoping that with the $50 price it is a set of a couple of ponies- like a FS Firefly and Medley set.  That would be so cool.... and presumably most people would be happy with that, don't the bronies also like these two and Surprise?
