Trading Blind Bag Ponies??

I bought my first blind bags today. I didn't get any of the same pony but I want to know if there is a lot of trading happening for these little guys and gals. Is it realistic that I could be able to complete sets by purchasing locally and trading duplicates? And how hard are they to find. I went to walmart, target, and TRU to find no ponies. Only my second Target stop had any!  Thanks in advance!

You can avoid duplicates you don't want by looking for the codes on the bag.  The earlier sets were numeric, but the most recent sets use letters.

In my area the availability varies.  They have tended to be hard to find at first, but after awhile they tend to turn up.  Of course the favorites in each set disappear the fastest.

Trading might still be useful if a particular pony you want keeps getting snatched up in your area. Especially since with the codes you can try to find one someone else is looking for.

Yep!  If you find a full box, there'll be one of each inside (in order by code too).

As others have said if you can snag a complete and unopened box then you will be able to buy them easily locally. Or if you dont mind buying online then you can buy unopened boxes from a couple of different suppliers and they work out to the same per pony as buying them in stores.
