Thanks everyone! This was my first time sculpting or making wings so I was very nervous that the pony would not turn out okay. Fox, the wings are made from Fantasy Film (http://www.artglitter.com/retail/fantasyfilmsheets.htm). It's really neat to work with. Here is a tutorial on making wings with it: https://www.cdhm.org/tutorials/making-fairy-wings.html This isn't exactly how I made the wings for this custom, but it's close. I already had the wings on the custom when I added the film. I wanted them to be as strong as possible so they are based on one long piece of wire which is bent at the center to make the saddle. They are so big I was really worried they would break en route. The best thing about the film is that you can put it over a flame to shrink it and make it fit the wire base better. This also makes all sorts of colors bloom in the film. It's actually a blue/purple color but for some reason in many of the pictures I took it looks pink and red. I need a better camera I guess!
