Need Help with Pink Doll hair photos please?
« on: April 26, 2014, 08:41:27 AM »
The doll hair I get never seems to match the photos of their samples, and I end up getting hair the wrong color. http://dollyhair.com/nylonhair.htm
Has this happened to anyone else?

Rather than end up with more hair I can't use, could anybody show me photo samples of the following DH colors?
I'm trying to match the colors of G4 Pinkie Pie's coat & mane as close as I can.

SUGARBERRY
TEA ROSE
STRAWBERRY MOUSSE
CANDYTUFT
RAZZLE DAZZLE

This is Razzle Dazzle

and this is Sugarberry

Both are too red in my opinion.

Tea Rose is the light pink in Fizzy's hair. I think it is too light

I think the closest match to Pinkie Pie's hair would be Heart Throb

Thank you for posting Heartthob as it really looks. It looks great for the mane.
As you can see, it doesn't look like that on the chart.

As for Tea Rose as a match for Pinkie's coat being too light, Can anyone suggest a closer match then?

How about Flirtatious? is in Polypropylene type of hair, I don't have that color in hand but it pictures it looks very bright dark pink

DH has it but the picture is small there, in another website   there's a better pic of it http://www.mylittlecustoms.com/Flirtatious/p635040_2827597.aspx

Is for the mane, at least in my laptop the color  is a close match for  the one in the TV show  :)

However in the toys her coat is a bit darker than the one in TV, maybe you could try sunfading her (before the rehair) so the color would be lighter  ;)

Those types of pink plastic fade easy, I was fading some marker spots in a G3 Serendipity I covered the symbol , and in just less than a month her plastic got  fading  >_<

Is easy to notice when the exposed area is compared to the one I covered

In the cartoon, Pinkie's coat and Fluttershy's mane match as the same pink.
I'm still looking for a pink that matches the G4 Pinkie brushable toy's body, so I can rehair Fluttershy.
I tried Old Bubblegum, and it was too dark, and Tea Rose looks a tad light. Any ideas???

I figure if I can match Pinkie, the toy's body color, then I'll have the right pink for Fluttershy's mane.

That's a good info

At dolly hair it says tea rose is the same of Sundance's mane

For Fluttershy mane I think Kitten would be closer is a very soft pastel pink , kitten is the same pink found in some G3s like Lullabelle http://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/File:LulabelleII.jpg

When it comes to hair matches, use http://www.mylittlecustoms.com/NYLON_Hair/cat635041_562097.aspx when you need to see the different hair types. The shop offers the same as dollyhair but their hair pics look more real than dollyhair's.

I took some pics, the hair is compared to the back of the G4zillas boxes, however the box could be off from the TV screen models

Compared to Kitten using a Lulabelle

Now that's what I'm talking about , but
I'm trying to match the G4 Pinkie Pie toy's body and not the cartoon Pinkie's body.

Maybe Hot Lips rather then HeartThob for a darker Pinkie Pie mane?

Ah so it was the toy

Well I made another pic, Kitten looks closer because Tea Rose is a tiny bit grayish tone when you compare it to Pinkie, sadly I don't have Hot Lips hair

As you can see, Old Bubblegum was the right hue, buy was to dark. Kitten looks too light.
Maybe if I blended them?

Too bad I can't sun bleach Old Bubblegum a bit. ;)
